Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Erika Toda!... Yuko Oshima... Nogizaka46!.... C-ute.... Masami Nagasawa!.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Few tidbits.... have no idea why the background color constantly changes, think Blogger keeps doing it.
New item on the right is the 'Featured Post of the Day', will be putting some fabulous oldie posts which some of you may have missed the first time around, all will be at least one year old.

Yukie Nakama: Some recent happenings....

Been exactly four years since the last Yukie post, embarrassed to say I don't think about her too much these days. But before this blog was started she was one of my big faves and one of the first actresses who I really got into. She got married a few years back but doesn't have any children, if she's planning on it she had better hurry as she turned 37 last October.
That last post about Yukie was for her 2013 drama "Saki" which was an excellent show, one of the best series from the last five years. Been noticing her around much more lately so thought it's time to revive her from the ranks of the forgotten. But also just started her current drama "Rakuen" and have more info on that in this post.
Mainly will have newer things for this post but four years is a long time without one here so will dig out some golden oldies for you to enjoy at the bottom of this post. Have two mag spreads for today but there are plenty more out there and will get to them soon. Five pics each here from the September issue of In Red and the February edition of Be-Story.

May have the next Yukie post real soon as this Saturday she has a film coming out and there should be many pics from the premiere. The film is titled "Partners: The Movie IV", it's a spin off of the long running "Aibou" drama which is now in it's 16th season. Yukie was a regular in season fifteen and looking at her credits she's had to be in at least forty dramas over the years. On January 24th there was a special showing for the movie and a few pics from that.

Yukie's current drama is titled "Rakuen" which is based on a 2007 novel by Miyuki Miyabe. I've read a few of her books and every one is highly recommended. It's a psychological thriller like her "Saki" series was and think this is going to turn out to be a fine drama. Watched the first episode which was quite good though a bit confusing so may watch it again.
The show airs on WOWOW and started on January 8th. The series is only six episodes with one more to be aired. It's being subbed and four shows have been done so far. What I'm planning is doing all six recaps in a row which I've never done before, think it'll make it easier for you to follow the story. Can do that with shorter dramas but for ones that are ten or more episodes it'd be too many posts in a row.

On January 7th there was an event for the drama, Yukie does look too thin in these pics but she is in the show. So often she dresses in that baggy look which makes her appear bigger than she is but I've always considered her to be quite thin. Also at the event were the two other main stars.

To end off have a few oldie pics which were promised above. True Yukie doesn't look as hot as she once did but remember she will be turning 38 later on this year so if you think of it that way she's still looking pretty darn good. These are going all the way back to 2002 and they're from a mini photobook titled "Scorpion", refers to her Zodiac sign.
