Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Masami Nagasawa Toshi Densetsu no Onna episode 9 review plus more
All good things I guess have to come to an end and for Tsukiko(Masami) and her comrades on the force there was no exception to that rule. Least it ended on a good note as Tsukiko's hunt for an urban legend went on plus carrying over from the previous episode was the 'curse' put on her by a fortune teller, the 'curse' being she would die within a week, luckily for all concerned it didn't happen but it sure came close.
The case this time involved an old mystery from the 1860's where it was rumored a huge amount of gold was stolen and hidden somewhere in Tokyo, a vast amount of it too which led many people to go on wild goose chases for it. The murder this time was someone in a trio who was looking for the gold, could one of the other two be the culprit behind the crime. As usual through Tsukiko's sleuthing and actually a fair amount by the others on the force they were able to find out who was the murderer but not before Tsukiko was captured and came oh so close to her death, you can see it in the screenshots in the next post. Saved in the nick of time she was and to top it off at the conclusion of the show she finally found her urban legend after all this time and a real ine it was, there really was gold hidden and in all places the police station! However the commissioner knew it and as a result the show ended with Tsukiko being transferred away so as not to give the secret away, for some strange reason she ended up in NYC as a member of the FBI, makes you wonder if they may have left the ending open like that for a special or season 2.
Shame it was only 9 episodes as this was one fine series which just got better with each episode, perhaps they didn't think it was going to be such a hit. A hit it was as even though it was a late night show it drew decent ratings with the last episode getting a rating of 11.6%. In conclusion, have already reviewed every episode up until now so not much more to add, but this is one that I highly recommend.... funny, quirky, interesting, good plots and a solid cast. Of course Masami carried the show, she does well in these off beat roles though she doesn't do all that many of them, perhaps in the future she'll get more like this as she aced her role as Tuskiko. But besides Masami the whole cast was solid, for the most part in secondary roles but they all were good and were really needed as straight men to Tuskiko's odd side. Final rating would be a 9+/10, really one enjoyable series that I wish was longer. Check out the next post for screenshots from the show plus there's posts for evey episode if you want to check it out and here's all the info on the show and cast.
