Ji-won Ha: The King 2 Hearts episode 1 screenshots and review
Not sure what took me so long to start on this drama, thought the plot was something entirely different than what it is, glad I took the gamble to watch this as through 4 episodes it's been quite a treat. Will give a short synopsis of the first 4 episodes and mini recaps of each episode along with a ton of Ji-won screenshots from the series, she is the reason I'm watching this, actually she's the main reason why I watch so many Korean movies and dramas. As I said will just will give a synopsis for now for what I've watched, really went in cold as far as what the show was about so I'm completely in the dark as what's going to happen as how it will end up.
Basic story line so far is that North and South Korea have teamed up in a joint alliance to participate in the 2012 WOC event, it being the World Officers Championship which is where many countries send their elite military officers to a championship to find out who is #1. This is the first time either country has entered and is also the first time for them doing anything military together, the governments of each country are hoping this will be the start of better relationships between the countries. The North and South each have selected their elite 3 officers to join forces, from the South the main character in the drama is Lee Jae Ha, he is the brother of the King and is also next in line if something should happen to him. However he's not the most responsible nor enthusiastic officer which is why the King has ordered him to participate in the WOC, he actually is a much smarter person than anyone realizes and he acts that way because he does not want to become the King.
From the North the main character is the only female entry in the WOC, Kim Hang Ah(Ji-won) who is one tough drill sergeant and can beat most of the other military males in a physical battle. She's chosen to be the leader of the 3 elites but really didn't want to be the leader, we start learning why in the next few episodes but don't want to get too far ahead of myself. Besides meeting the teams we get a brief intro to many of the other characters, the other main ones are the King of the South and the other is the boss of an arms supplier who lives in Germany yet is Korean, John Mayer, he's going to have a huge impact on the series but so far hasn't had too much of that yet. This first episode then really just boiled down to meeting our teams and the other minor characters, right at the end of this show both teams eventually met each other and the tensions were a bit high, more on that when we look at the next episode.
