Had put off this drama for a while thinking that someone else played the role of Eisuke but learning I was mistaken thought this drama needed a watch and so far through 6 episodes it was a wise choice.
This will be a quickie synopsis as I'll be doing screenshots from every episode and giving mini recaps as it goes along. Eisuke's mother was the owner and chef of a French restaurant called Le Petit Chou and her one wish was that Eisuke would one day take over the restaurant, she had started grooming him to be a chef at an early age. However he had a different dream and that was to be a rock star and when he was 19 or so abandoned being a chef and started a group. His mother did support him on the outside but deep down she had hoped he would eventually come around and return to being a chef at the restaurant but sadly died before she could realize her dream. There was also Eisuke's father who besides helping out just  alittle at the restaurant didn't appear to do much of anything, seems like a nice guy who is also very wise but didn't contribute anything to the family's finances.
Eisuke said if he didn't make it as a rock star by the time he was 30 he would quit and go back to being a chef, this drama starts out with him being only a month away from that age and has finally decided to give up on his dream of being a successful musician. His band Rock Head had come oh so close to being popular but just couldn't quite get over the hump and disbanded, when Eisuke opened up a new version of Le Petit Chou two came to work with him and eventually the other member did too. So the 4 of them along with an inept helper in Ebina opened up the restaurant but like their band it wasn't too successful. The food was good according to all the customers but they were located in an out of the way spot plus it was a bit of a run down place but eventually, least through episode 6 it does slowly get to be more of a success. Also in the mix at the restaurant is a college student named Chie whose father owns a small vegetable farm where Eisuke gets his supplies, she falls head over heels for him both romantically and with his food and she also starts to work there part time.
One other main character is Tokio who when Eisuke's mother passed away bought her restaurant and opened his own at the location, he's a famous gourmet person though not a chef and also owns a few other establishments and has written at least one gourmet book. The restaurant he bought he turned into a high class one, the complete opposite of Eisuke's but he considers him to be a rival and has certain challenges throughout the series with Eisuke and at the halfway point always comes out on top in them such as making him change the name of the restaurant.
That for the most part is what the drama is about or at least up until episode 6 which is where I am now, after this post have many screenshots of Miori for every episode and and also have recaps of each show so some of the details that were left out here are filled in.

Post right above this gave most a somewhat thorough synopsis of this drama but like all the other posts after this will just be giving a brief recap of each episode and many screenshots of the incredibly cute Miori as Chie in this series.
This will probably be the shortest recap as most of the details is in the above post, what really happens in this first episode is that we meet most of the main characters especially Eisuke who is the owner and chef of a new French restaurant. He's a failed bass player from the band Rock Head and he had decided if he couldn't become a star by the time he was 30 he would quit the band and go back to being a chef, he's about a month away from that age. Things haven't started out well for the restaurant as it's located in a hard to find place and his fellow rockers who have joined him at the restaurant aren't the nicest looking guys nor do they act well at all to others. Eisuke also has a girlfriend and their relationship here is rocky and will continue to be for a while, really have no idea if by the end of the series they will still be together or whether there will be a new girl in Eisuke's life.
And that girl is college student Chie from whom Eisuke buys his vegetables from, she ate at this restaurant and fell totally in love with his cooking and it looks like also with him though she considers him to be such a rude person. That's about all that needs to be said about this first episode, actually made the recap longer than planned, don't want to give away all the story which I'll try not to do but there are so many "little things" going on would be impossible to give away everything. Main reason I started on this of course was Miori who really is something in this drama, quite funny and charismatic, she's not the only reason to watch this drama but perhaps the main one if you're a fan and at this blog we're huge ones, going to end off every post for this series with many screenshots of her from the episode.

Miori Takimoto: Hungry! drama episode 2 screenshots and recap

Main cast:
Osamu Mukai as Eisuke Yamate- chef, owner and ex-bass player
Miori Takimoto as Chie Okusu- college student who has a crush on Eisuke and his food
Ryoko Kuninaka as Maria Tachibana- Eisuke's girlfriend
Goro Inagaki as Tokio Aso- rival restaurant owner

Hairi Katagiri as Chikako Ebina- inept restaurant helper
Rio Yamashita as Nana Takagi- college student and Chie's best friend

Really every episode follows the same theme which is how Eisuke and his mates struggle with the restaurant which while becoming a tad busier hasn't grown enough to cover all the expenses. His mates are two others from his failed band Rock Head and now they are joined in this episode by the other member Taku who had just gotten out of prison but he wasn't a criminal just someone who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This episode we also learn how much Chie is falling for Eisuke as you'll see in the first few screenshots, she can't stand his personality but through his cooking seems to have really fallen for him. He does already have a girlfriend and a much classier woman she is too as she works in a bank, you wouldn't think two people like that would get together but they get along so well but their relationship is not going well at all, especially since Eisuke opened up his restaurant as he's never around for her anymore.
That's all I'm going to give away here, more happens which you can see in the screenshots but halfway through the drama I highly recommend it and try not to give away too much of the story, for myself like reading mini reviews of what a drama is like and not every detail about it, like to be surprised when I do end up watching it. Miori is something else in this series, of course my fave character but the main reason for that is because she's just so good in this show and really every show I've seen her in, hopefully all these posts I've done for her has increased her fan base by a couple of people.
