Not a huge fan of Renzoku dramas but this was the first show for the season that was subbed and the cast is fairly solid so will give it a go, these kinds of dramas are usually a hit or miss but this one at least for the first episode is a hit.
Saeko and Sota are now in their mid 20'2 and have known each other since High School. They went out for a while during Saeko's senior year but that really went nowhere as she was seeing someone else besides Sota. However Sota has never forgotten about her, he's had a crush on her since the first second he laid eyes on her. Saeko's greatest love in the world, from school days to present day is chocolate, not just your everyday variety but expensive and unbeatable delicious chocolates from Europe, especially France.

Though Sota's father ran a small pastry shop he wasn't all that good with baking, especially exquisite chocolates so shortly after he graduated from school he jumped on a plane and headed to France! There he met another Japanese baker who was working at the world famous L'atelierde Bonnaire chocolate shop and managed to get an intern there. The year when this happens in 2007 and Sota stays there training to be a chocolatier until 2013 when he has mastered the art of chocolates and heads back to Japan to open his own shop, he brings the Japanese man he met there back home with him to work in his shop.

Just a bit prior to Sota opening up his shop out of nowhere Saeko enters his shop and Sota's imagination starts to go into overdrive. He figures that now that he's an expert chocolatier she'll fall head over heels for him, perhaps a few years before she would have but not now as she confesses to him that she's getting married and would he make the wedding cake and all the other pastries for the celebration! Sota was a bit downhearted of course but he put that behind him and put all his effort into making what he prepared the highlight of the wedding. This was against the wishes of his coworkers as they felt he shouldn't be making anything for her wedding after the bombshell Saeko dropped on him but of course he talked them into helping him and the end result was they created many masterpieces for the wedding. This came at a price as Sota collapsed due to exhaustion and was unable to make the wedding but all ended well as he and Saeko had a nice chat just after the wedding, of course Sota is insanely jealous but keeps his feelings to himself.

That's brief summary of the outline for the first episode, didn't want to give away everything that happened in case you haven't watched it yet. Bit of a fluffy and lighthearted drama but that's okay now and again, I end up watching too many serious dramas so a change of pace like this show is good to do now and again. Found the first episode to be quite enjoyable, was never boring and the pace was good so can at least recommend the first episode. Second show could be even better as it ended as Sota is about to open his bakery shop for the first time but we meet a rival of his who looks like he's going to make life quite difficult for Sota and the shop and of course the never ending plot is also going to be Sota trying to somehow get Saeko to fall for him and leave her new husband, hopefully those storylines will work out.  Few more screenshots to end off and the next post has many form this episode for Satomi.
