In the previous recap post for week 3 mentioned that with so many weeks and episodes there's going to be a some slower moments in the drama, not exactly filler material but periods where not much new happens. This week was a bit like that, very little new happened and really this week concentrated on Akari(Miroi) getting to know the other boarders at the house.
Akari had already become good friends with Fuyumi who was at least a decade older than Akari's age of 18, she said she was a model but in reality she was a failure as one and worked as a delivery person. The rest of the boarders had always thought she was a model but learned the truth during this week, but good things do happen as at the end of the Fuyumi happens to find a small modeling gig. She also had a crush on another boarder named Takizawa who was an avid runner. He was an excellent runner who ran all the time but for some reason didn't do well in races, he was also quite the loner type who wouldn't eat with any of the boarders, their meals were prepared there by Tanaka.
Akari wanted to have a birthday dinner for the son of one of the boarders and wanted everyone to attend but Takizawa refused. Akari then challenged him to a race, of course there was no way she could beat him but she said if she could then he would have to attend the birthday dinner. Well they had the race and of course Akari lost badly but gave such an effort to finish the race that Takizawa felt a bit sorry for her and said he would come to the dinner.
Haven't mentioned it but Akari is one of those really gung ho young woman who wants everything to be perfect and for everyone to get along, before she came no one at the boarding house socialized with each other but Akari has been changing that. The birthday dinner and getting the boarders to become closer really took up most of the 4th week, all those events were stretched out a bit which brings us up to episode 23.
In that episode Akari's best friend from Onomichi Kana comes to visit her in Osaka. Kana was also a talented member of the high school band and everyone thought she would go to a music college but failed the entrance exam and now was just working with ther father who owned a small ship yard. Really not sure why Kana traveled all the way to Osaka to get Akari's advice but she did, actually it was mainly that her father was so disappointed in her for failing her college entrance exam that he had set her up for an arranged marriage. Can't tell you what's going to come of that yet, kind of like watching this drama as I have no clue what's going to happen from week to week.
Bit of a shorter recap this time around as I mentioned above not as much happened this week, Akari setting up the birthday dinner for one of the boarders took up most of the first 4 episodes. In the last episode very little occurred too except it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger as Akari has taken out her deceased mother's old trumpet. She had all the intentions of quitting the instrument a few weeks ago but now wants to play it for her grandmother who despises the trumpet but upon hearing Akari playing it so well she it brings tears to her eyes, also to Akari's eyes.
And that finally concludes these recaps for the first 4 weeks, took a lot longer to write these up than I expected but it was also a few months since I had watched these so it was hard remembering what had happened, that's why screenshots are so good to have. Haven't watched any episodes past this week so am in the dark about what is going to happen, right now the subs for weeks 5 and 6 are done but am going to wait until two more weeks are done before I resume watching. After that will be back with another 4 week set of recaps, kind of like taking a break as there's so many episodes it's easy to get a bit tired of watching so many in a row, with a break there's no way that will happen. Next post as usual has many screenshots of Miori from this week plus also would like to thank Belthazar at DA who is subbing this drama.
