C-ute: The 'C-ute Singles series' #20- "Kono Machi"

In newer C-ute happenings the group will be losing the services of Chisato for a while. She announced on her blog a few days ago she needs surgery for polyps and that the surgery will be taking place at the end of June. Shouldn't affect the group at first as their mini tour ends on the 16th, they also have a special fan club performance in June. They say they will continue on with just the four of them but to be honest have no idea how long she'll be out of service, will keep you updated on the news.

After this hope to have five more of these 'singles series' posts going back to their fifteenth single. "Kono Machi" aka Our Town was released on February 6, 2012 and it's a mystery to me why it performed so badly. First week sales were only 24,300 copies sold while the singles before and after all broke the 40,000 mark. Perhaps it was some sort of special single as all of the songs were covers of the J-Pop star Chisato Moritaka. Just two months after this the group released single 321, usually it's four months between singles. Here are the other covers for it.

Going back in time makes it harder to find things for the group's singles. First seven posts already had a huge amount of cards and other things which made the posting easier, when you go back four or more years it not easy at all finding things. Back in 2012 and earlier there weren't as many H!P cards so don't have too many of them, these days there's so many it's hard to keep up with them. However the group used to appear in many more mags to promote their singles, after a few promo pics have some of those spreads.

Wish the group appeared in more mags these days, can only recall them being in one spread for the new single. First set of pics is from the February issue of Big One Girls.

None of the spreads are that big though, another February issue and these are from Entertainment Monthly.

Another smallish spread which is from Top Yell.

One thing that the group has always done which I really like is doing an appearance on the day a single is released. It's never a long performance as they'll usually play the three songs off the single with perhaps an oldie or two thrown in. These are from the promo appearance for this single and after them is the PV for the song.
