Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Kasumi Arimura: "Hiyokko" asadora press conference pics

Good/bad news for you Kasumi fans out there and these days she really has quite a few of them, you can count me as one. The good news is that she's been chosen to have the lead role in the NHK asadora(morning drama) "Hiyokko". Those dramas are quite popular, though prime time ratings have fallen over the years those morning series still get very high ratings.
The bad news is that the dramas last for six months which means we may not see too much of Kasumi next year such as being in more films or other dramas. The episodes are only 15 minutes each but there's six of them a week so the filming process takes quite a few months. Don't know many of the details but it's set in Tokyo right after the 1964 Olympics, kind of sounds like one of those underdog shows.
Will have more info once it comes out, no other cast has been selected yet nor is there a website for it yet. Sure many of you remember that Kasumi also starred in the 2013 asadora "Amachan", really liked her character in the show but 26 weeks was too long for me to finish. On June 29th there was a press conference for the drama, Kasumi was dressed a bit conservative but still looked mighty sharp to me. Checked but no video of the event or at least the ones on YT probably won't be there for very long but do have some A+ pics from the press conference. Almost forgot to post this fact but the show won't be starting until next April, they do announce these so far in advance.
