Korean drama "Bring it on Ghost" episode three recap and screenshots

This series also goes by the name of "Let's Fight Ghost", if you look this show up either way you'll get the same results.

Start Date: July 11, 2016.... airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 11:00 pm pm tvN

Main Cast:

Taec Yeon as Park Bong-Pal
Kim So-Hyun as Kim Hyun-Ji
Kwon Yool as Joo Hye-Sung
Kim Sang-Ho as Monk Myung
Lee Do-Yeon as Oh Kyung-Ja
Kang Ki-Young as Choi Chun-Sang
David Lee as Kim In-Ranger
Baek Seo-E as Im Seo-yeon

Ratings after the first four episodes averaged a tad over 4%. That may not seem like a high number, it sin't, but tvN is a cable network and for them that's a solid rating. Plus it does air at 11:00 pm, wonder how many teens stay up for this show.
Bring up that teen aspect because the first two shows were more on the serious side though a bit lighthearted at times. This episode seemed as though it was geared more for teens, wasn't a a bad watch but a drop off from the first two shows because of that. Wouldn't call it a teen angst show but too much of this episode revolved around Kim wanting more teen things such has a new dress and going out to eat, what she wants she deserves to get!

Kim still hasn't regained her memories of who she is or how she died. At the conclusion of episode two her and Park were about to kiss again, when it happened the first time she had a brief flashback of when she was alive. This time nothing happened, no memories at all of her former life. Don't know if it's the case but when they kissed the first time it was by accident, thinking that perhaps for a kiss to work it has to be by accident or Kim need to initiate the kiss which Park did this time.
Another idea that was suggested to Kim was that she spend more time around Park, no clue how that would bring back her memories but she did try that. She told Park she wanted to study for the SAT's, he wondered like the rest of us how could a ghost take the test or go to college. Kim thought that perhaps not taking the tests is why she was still on the Earth, that could be one of the things she has to do before she moves on to wherever ghosts move on to.
After that Kim moved in with Park, to me things like that are what brought down this episode a bit. For instance why does a ghost need to eat or sleep? And being a ghost wouldn't it be easy for Kim just to walk onto a store or restaurant and take whatever she wants? Would help the show out more if Kim started to act a bit more 'ghostly' and start doing odd or eerie things.
For the most part this episode concentrated on the two of them trying to adapt to each other, think Park is starting to fall for Kim a bit though he won't admit it. Kim's move in hasn't gone too smoothly either as the Monk who lives with Park off and on moved back for a few days. Kim really wanted to eat real food but couldn't as the Monk ate everything she was prepared to eat, she's not allowed to show herself in front of him as he also can see ghosts.

There was only about five minutes of ghost fighting in this show, first two shows had much more action which would have helped. What really would have helped was to expand the story of the ghost they fought in this episode. The ghost was an actress who had just committed suicide due to so many haters writing bad things about her on the internet.
After her death she killed one of those people who had written about her, now she was on to another one of her haters who happened to be a member of the college's Ghostnet club. This is where Kim and Park jump into action, so far neither one seems capable of defeating a ghost by themselves but as a team they work well and once again they were able to bring the ghost down. After being beaten the ghost died strangely but somehow burning up, so far all of the ghost's deaths have been different.
One last thing isn't really something that took place but hope it will soon. It has to do with Professor Joo who we only briefly saw this episode. He has a deep and possibly evil secret and am curious to what it is and how it may affect Kim but think his evilness will effect Park more.

So-so episode, worth a watch if you've started the series but wish they would go back to being a bit more serious in this show and have a bit more ghost hunting/fighting. If you've been reading my other drama reviews then you know I'm also watching the 'W" series. Bring that up because the medical school in that show is called Myungsei University, college in this show also is called that. Don't know why as the dramas are on different networks though one actor, Choi Chun-Sang, has a role in each of the shows.
Even though the show has slipped a bit will still continue watching the entire series, every drama always has at least one or two episodes like this and it's hard not to when a series lasts for 16-20 episodes. Episodes five and six have aired already this week but still need to watch the fourth show, will be back in a few days with a recap of that and let's hope this so-so episode was just a blip.
