Nogizaka46: 'Nogizaka Singles Series' #5- "Kimi no Na wa Kibou"- part one
That was the roster at the time of this single's release, shortly after is when the second generation members joined and don't they look so different these days. Couldn't pass on this Nanami blog pic which she posted on February 19, 2013 as it's one of the group's best blog pics ever.
Been calling this the 'Nogizaka Singles Series' but you could also call it a mini history about the group. True the main subject is the single but have so many other things that happened around the time the single was released. Today have over 70 pics and could have had so many more as the group really started to become so much more popular around this time, perhaps for future posts will need to do two posts but that plan was already in the works for their sixth single.
EDIT: Don't want to change everything written so will tell you there will a part two for this single. Main reason for that is that two of my fave tunes from them are "13 hi no Kinyobi" and "Dekopin". Both were B-sides for this single and to me they are so much better than the hit song so will have that post coming up very soon.
The title translates over to Your Name Is Hope, it was released on March 13, 2013. It could be their slowest single and to be honest I prefer their more upbeat songs though in concert it turns out to be quite an excellent tune, the video of the song will be a live version.
Sales of the group have really increased in the span of one year as their first single sold 136,000 copies in it's first week out. This single was their best one yet selling 242,000 copies in it's first week, it sold a total of 306,000 in 2013 which was the 22nd best selling single of the year. Once again Rina was the center for this song, for some reason coming in thought that Erika was but once again she was in the front line. Also in the front line for the first time was Manatsu, four versions of the single were released and here are their covers.
Always plenty of cards for their singles, there were more for this song but if I posted every single pic for everything then this would be the longest post in the history of blogger.
Last post had some pics for their 2013 calendar which if you hold on to the pics will work in 2019, the members each had two weeks and here are the ones for Nanase and Kazumi.
Right around this time is when Mai's popularity really zoomed, have a superb solo spread from Young Animal #9.
Posted some member pics from this set but none of the group, this spread is from YS-Web #521.
There weren't too many mag spreads from 2012 but this year as the group's popularity increased it was the start of them being never ending. Sayuri is one who hasn't appeared in many solo spreads but here's one of her from the April issue of TV Navi.
One more group spread which is from the April issue of Entame.
Every February the group holds a birthday concert, this year was their 4th one. Their first b-day concert took place on February 22, 2013 and here's a few pics from it.
On to the main attraction which is the 'Kimi no Na wa Kibou" single. As I mentioned above it's not one of my fave tunes but that's mainly the single version as in concert the song sounds so much better so a live version is what you can enjoy.
