Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Minami Sengoku and Up Up Girls: More recent happenings....

Said more happenings in the title which is quite true, there's many more than what's here for today. Last week mentioned that I'd try to have at least one group post for a while so will save a few of this week's pics and info for the next post, perhaps there will be two this week then.
All of the solo and group posts have featured an Up Up Girls tune, like most J-Pop group's that I get into think I may prefer their B-sides. That's what today's song is which is titled "Jumper" and is off their "Kakko Kari wa Kaesuze Be Your Soul" single which was released on April 9, 2014. The single made #17 on the charts and that's a respectable showing for them. They've truly deserved more fans over the years and the above video is a live version of the song as they really shine in concert.

UUG released a documentary photobook on August 18th , will have pics from an event for it in their next post. Above is the cover, that second pics is a utterly fabulous one but it's the only one from the Mikiki site where they had an interview for the PB.
This week UUG also released their fourth album, don't think there's been an event for it yet. Have heard most of the singles from and would highly recommend it along with their other albums. Pics here are from an interview that came out today for Hustle Press promoting the album.

What's been lacking over the years are mag spreads featuring the group or members. Minami has had a good amount of them but she's so drop dead dazzling she deserved many more. This is an older one from 2014 promoting the above single and is from Young Gangan #10.

Sadly Minami will be graduating from the group on September 15th and UUG will be having a farewell performance on that day at Zepp Tokyo. It's not just for her but also on that day Ayano will be graduating. Both will have a final solo event the following day, for Minami it will probably be a fan signing session for her first PB which will be released on September 15th.

Those are two promo pics from the new album. On August 5th the gals performed at the 'Tokyo Idol Fest', think their set was only about twenty minutes long. It's a huge festival as at least 220 groups perform at the show, even with the short show bet they put on one of the better concerts.

UUG also made an appearance at the Jam Expo on August 26th. That's another event which there will be more pics in the next post as I want to see if the videos stay there for a few more days.

Hopefully we're gaining a few more Up Up Girls fans with these posts. To end off have a video of Minami hosting 'Showroom' on August 22nd, she also hosted the this week's show to promote the album. They're long videos but I find them enjoyable.
