Nao Kanzaki: 'Top Twenty Faves list for 2017' #5....?
Was worried about having enough new or interesting items to post about but that was needless fretting. Have over ninety pics, not all are new but probably eighty of them are for here plus there's a pair of videos. Wouldn't surprise me if this turns out to be the best of all twenty posts for the countdown, Yeon-Hee fans will be enjoying this immensely and it should garner her a few new fans.
What I noticed about 2017 was the big drop off of appearances from so many of my faves at promo events, premieres, screenings and happenings like those. Actually there were many but one noticeable thing about them was the way they were dressed at them as it seemed in the past the way they looked at events were better than mag spreads and ten times more sultry, not so for 2017 as it looks like being conservative is the trend.
Yeon-Hee made up for the lack of exciting events with the way she looked at this year's 53rd 'Baeksang Arts Awards' show that was held on May 3rd. She wasn't up for an award but needless to say if there was one for hottest woman of the year Yeon-Hee would have run away with the honor. Did a post some months back about the event which has so many more pics and these are easily my pics without a doubt for the whole year, that video above can't be recommended more.
Kind of wondering if Yeon-Hee shouldn't have been in the fourth position, the spots from four to six were the toughest for me to decide on and as I said yesterday there could have been a three way tie. This was the first year I've included Korean actresses on my top faves list, some would have made previous years but just hadn't thought of it.
Four made it this year with Yeon-Hee being the highest ranking actress, wouldn't doubt if next year the count increases by at least one. Actually she was the highest ranking actress from either Korea or Japan. Have quite a potpourri of things though sadly not many are from recent happenings, Yeon-Hee is probably taking a break as she just had two dramas air back to back. Had been recapping two of them at once but have taken a breather from them and most Korean dramas in general as I was getting quite burnt out. Will be back soon though with the final eight recaps for "The Package" series and think that's a better show than her "Reunited Worlds" show.
"The Package" ended it's run on November 18th, it began on October 13th and ran for twelve episodes. Ratings were a bit low but a huge reason for that is because it aired on JTBC which is a cable channel. Shame it wasn't higher rated as it's a funny and interesting show, think Yeon-Hee was also a bit disappointed in the ratings. That's what I read in some articles she did for the series back in November, these are some pics form the with five from the Tong Plus site with the remaining being from SE Daily and like the way she looks in those pics.
There are many Yeon-Hee posts here but there's also so many fabulous pics that had never been posted of her or should I say until now.
Yeon-Hee is one of the older faves of mine and she'll be turning thirty on January 9th but to me looks better with each passing second. Let's take a trip through the time tunnel all the way back to December 30, 2009 where Yeon-Hee certainly made many heads spin around with her dazzling looks at the 'MBC Drama Awards' show.
Yeon-Hee was nine days away from turning 21 in those above pics which are very difficult to top. She wasn't up for any awards at the ceremony but the previous year she had won three(!) for her performance in the "East of Eden" series. Have seen her in five dramas but hard to believe that's not one of them, guess I need to rectify that.
There's only been a few mag spreads for this year, maybe when you get close to thirty those kinds of activities slow down? Hopefully not but have already posted all of them already for this year so let's take another trip to the past with Yeon-Hee as there's a pair of ancient mag spreads. Neither has been posted before and this first oldie but goldie is from the March 2012 edition of Vogue Girl.
Second set is from the June 2014 issue of Marie Claire and Yeon-Hee was promoting Chanel watches, kind of lose track of time staring at her pics....
Oooops, do have one more small set which is also from June 2014 and the mag is Sure.
Back to a newer event though wouldn't call it very new. It's from the Burberry Spring/Summer Collection fashion show which took place on March 15th in Seoul. Often you see Japanese actresses take a stroll on the catwalk at fashion shows but can't recall seeing any Korean actresses doing the same, Yeon-Hee would be worth the price of admission at one of them.
We've finally hit the end which is a bit of a shame as I like doing huge posts like these for my bigger faves, obviously Yeon-Hee is and at one time honestly thought she had a chance at the top spot. Actually there isn't much difference between one and six, all of them are heads and tails above everyone else but that doesn't mean the other fourteen aren't all better than terrific.
Final item are some more oldies, had so much fun doing this post once the list is finished think I'll do a few more in this vein for her. Yeon-Hee used to do quite a bit of promoting for Hite beer, I can never find it in the store and it looks like she drinks up all of their profits! Have some promo pics from them followed by a CM which came out in 2011, there's many of them on YT.
I'm glad Yeon Hee is so high on your list! She's been one of my favorites since 2009 when I watched A Millionaire's First Love. The lowest she's ever been in my rankings is #4 but these days she's my #2 actress in Korea.
ReplyDeleteAs I was doing this post thought she really deserved to be fourth instead of the person that finished there and am still thinking that way. Need to see more of her films as "Hello Schoolgirl" has been the only one to date, the question is if she's your #2 actress who took the top spot?
ReplyDeleteHan Ye Seul has been my #1 Korean actress since 2011, and that won't change until she retires haha.
DeleteWas checking out her bio and she seems to be an interesting woman. Think I'll end up doing a post(s) for her very soon as I've noticed doing one or two of them is the best way for me to learn about someone. Her last two dramas look okay but kind of leaning to start off with the "Miss Gold Digger" movie.
ReplyDeleteNoticed she was born in America, my fave in the 20th spot is also a Korean actress who was born here.
Yeah, Miss Gold Digger is a fun movie and my favorite drama of hers is Fantasy Couple, so those two would be the first to check out imo.
DeleteFantasy Couple looks promising so will check that out and also possibly Penny Pinchers soon, need another set of eyes to view everything on my 'need to watch' list.
