Kim Ji-Yeon(Bona): Her intro post #2- "Girls' Generation 1979" drama tidbits....
Never going to top those pics of Bona from the 'KBS Drama Awards' show so won't even try though the ones for today are all oki doki. Have found there's not as many Bona happenings of her to post about but that also may mean I need to work a bit harder and with her dazzling looks think she's worth the effort. That also may mean doing some posts for Cosmic Girls which is Bona's K-Pop group, songs I've heard from them have been fairly good.
But Bona has made me a bit more active as too often I say that I'll end up watching this and that which doesn't happen enough. But did start on the "Girls Generation 1979" drama today and the first episode was so good have a feeling I'm going to be zipping right through it. Bona plays eighteen year old Jung-Hee in the series, the first episode was 64 minutes long and she must have been on the screen for sixty of them.
Her performance was so top notch Bona was nominated for a Best Actress award at the '2017 KBS Drama Awards' show held on December 31st but unfortunately didn't come away a winner. Bona's performance through one show has been a winner to me though and she really has such a screen presence. Will be recapping the entire eight episode series but unsure what format it'll be, two episodes at a time is how I usually recap dramas but you'll find out soon enough.
Here's a few screenshots from the first show, it was truly such a fun and entertaining episode. Sure a few older drama fans remember the name of Hae Chae-Young who was my first fave Korean actress. First Korean drama I ever viewed was in 2008 which was "Sassy Girl Chun-Hyung" from 2005 and that gets one of Nao's highest recommendations ever. So far in this drama Bona really resembles her face wise but few in the world resemble Chae-Young from the neck down.
That bottom screenshot is of Min Do-Hee and what a head turner she is, she used to be in the K-Pop group Tiny-G which disbanded in 2015. Do-Hee is in the bottom two pics of this set which were promo ones for the drama. Also in some of the pics is Chae Seo-Jin who also makes a few heads turn, she did in the first episode and plays Jung-Hee's main love rival.
The series began on September 11th, the day of it's premiere there was a mini event at Jinji Baba in Yeouido, Seoul. For some strange reason it wasn't heavily covered but don't think it was considered a major drama, ratings for it were usually a little over 4%. Do have a few pics from the event though and following them is a short promo video for the first episode. Lot of older K-Pop tunes were played throughout the show along with some American hits from the era.
