Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Nana Owada.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Mayu Matsuoka: Few recent happenings....

Seems like I do many posts for Mayu yet this is only her 31st one, at that rate may take until 2024 to reach a hundred. Mayu had never appeared in that many CM's but that's the changed the past six months as she seems to have two new ones a month or more. At the top is a brand new one for Mt. Rainier coffee and there's three versions with that one being the longest.
Mayu fans outside of Japan may be rejoicing as her "Katte ni Furuetero" film is coming out on DVD June 6th, it'll be our first chance to view it. Even though I haven't seen it have a feeling it could be the best film for 2017, she's won a couple of acting awards for it already.

One thing I've said in most Mayu posts is that she appears in too few mags. Won't say it again but that trend continues as there are no recent ones for her today but think her previous post had 3-4 of them. However do have some fabulous new Mayu pics from the WWD Japan site.

Mayu has the lead role or main female role in almost all of her films. That hasn't been the case for the "Chihayafuru" series which now consists of three movies. Part three was released on March 17th and these are pics from it's premiere that was held at the TOHO Cinemas in Roppongi Hills.

Lastly on March 14th Mayu was at an Aflac event that was loosely called 'Cancer days for living'. The event wasn't as morbid as what it was called as it was for a new app the company has put out to determine your body age. Mayu is 23 but in the test the app figured out her body age is twenty, not sure if it's something you can bank on. Plenty of superb pics here from the event and following them is her new CM for the insurance company.
