SKE48: Sarina Souda- "Urabanashi" photobook scans
As I said a few days ago 2018 is shaping up to be the year for photobooks and not just for Idols. No doubt Nogi has been the biggest reason for all of the books, hoping a few faves of mine who have never had one will be joining the 'book club'. Sarina is one of the older SKE members as she turned 25 in January, she didn't join the group until she was twenty which is something that doesn't happen often. Kind of glad to see someone like Sarina have a PB but it's kind of surprising she had the opportunity to have one over some other long term members.
The last few years the photobooks from the '48' family have been solid but not nearly as good as the ones from 2010-14. Their mag spreads usually get a grade of A+ but the books seem to be much tamer than the pics from mags which is kind of odd. To me Hello Project books are the best by far, the ones from Nogi the past year have also been tremendous.
Sales for Sarina's "Urabanashi" PB have been so-so, it was released on February 7th and in it's first week it was fourth on the Oricon charts. Copies sold though were just 2,245, after that it dropped off the charts. This PB is good but could have been much better, first half of the pics are a tad too conservative though the second half pics are quite terrific. Lately a '46' or '48' member gets a PB when they're going to graduate, haven't heard any news of Sarina leaving and there's no reason to as the past year she's become much more popular. Unlike other Idols who travel overseas this PB was taken in SKE's hometown of Nagoya.
'avin a beer, what a legend
