 Episode title: Last Farewell

As mentioned in the above post this may be the best episode to date. Finally a little bit of gore plus it was kind of an intense show and wish it was like this all along as some of the first few shows were just a tad too fluffy and perhaps that's why the intensity was kicked up.

At the end of the previous show five girls had managed to escape from the Fujimi high school which had been overrun by zombies. We never learn of what happened to the rest of the girls and think there's about seven left plus a pair of teachers. The best defense against zombies is playing an obscure song called "Moon Moon Lalu" which the girls had on cassette.
But after fleeing the school they discovered it was gone, for some reason it had been stolen by their teacher Terakawa who wanted to remain at the school. As mentioned we don't know what became of her but sure we'll be seeing her again, she seemed like a sweet teacher but is definitely a devil. So the girls wind their way through the back roads of Japan and are truly struggling when they meet up with a truck hauling a trailer.
In the truck was a nurse we had met in episode five who was Midori. She and her nursing student Aoi had been treating patients at the Fujimi hospital but it was eventually overrun and her partner was killed. She managed to escape and hooked up with a solo gal named Aida who was a member of the Japanese Defense Forces. So it's now a team of seven as the students climb into the trailer and it's off to wherever as there's no destination set.

The group manages to find a safe spot to camp out for a while, a place where there's a nearby farm with still live chickens. Never thought about it until now but do zombies also kill animals and the like? All seven get a bit down now and again but for the most part their spirits are still high even though the world could be nearing it's end, no clue of zombies are in the rest of the world.
All sit down and help themselves to a feast of fresh eggs though some seasoning could be needed. Tabuchi had noticed a villa not far away from their site, she dragged Mao and Iori along with her to look for some seasonings and other supplies. The villa was empty or it appeared that way so the girls began helping themselves to whatever food they could find. Tabuchi heard a strange sound though, as she says above could it be a zombie?
The trio head to the origin of the sound which came from behind a closed door. They were all armed with weapons such as a shovel and knife so they opened the door to attack what they thought was a zombie. Tragic mistake as when they opened the door there was no zombie but instead an older man who didn't ask any questions but just fired his shotgun!!!!

Such a small area meant it was tough to miss a shot and the old man didn't as he took out Iori and Tabuchi. Both are lying still but for now they may not be dead, back at the camp the others heard the gunshot. They ran to the villa but by the time they got there one girl was now dead who was Tabuchi, they dragged her back to the camp along with Iori who had a slight pulse.
Midori the nurse did everything in her power to save Iori and kept her alive longer than was possible but eventually she too is now not among the non-living. Mao, who had escaped injury, was beside herself with grief as her and Iori had been an item though none of their intimate moments were ever seen. Now the total living is down to five and who knows what's become of the other girls at the school. All five sat around in a daze and it soon became night at their camp. Wheeling himself up in a chair to their camp was the old man still holding his shotgun.
He apologized over and over, in times like these he said one can't take a chance of being attacked by zombies so he had to shoot first before asking questions. He also said the girls were armed which was true so in a way it wasn't entirely his fault for pulling the trigger. Mao didn't want to hear any excuses though, without Iori next to her life wasn't wasn't worth living so she begged the old man to shoot her! He wouldn't even though she wouldn't stop her pleading, eventually his guilt became so much he turned the gun towards him and shot himself in the head!
Those two incidents were kind of intense or at least for this kind of drama, quite a bit of blood too with a bit of gore. As the episode ends the five remaining females are having funerals for their two friends along with the old man. In Tabuchi's pocket Mutsumi had found some natto biscuits which were Maiko's fave, they ate them as a remembrance to their deceased friend and this fine episode came to it's sad end.

After doing four of these in a row may have zipped through it not giving it enough justice. But this was one fine episode and didn't expect to see graphic killings like these turned out to be with enough gore to satisfy us horror fans. Hope the final four episodes can keep up the intensity and unsure when I'll be back with them.
Am also recapping the Korean series "Your House Helper", have been alternating back and forth with the posts. But seeing as this only has four more shows to go may finish this off first and then concentrate on the other drama. Also have an unsubbed film which I'll be reviewing soon for the 'top twenty faves' series which is "Ada", it's the first of two films.
