Morning Musume" The single series #66- "Furari Ginza / Jiyuu na Kuni Dakara"
Not entirely back from my hiatus but have a pair of posts today to let you know I'm still alive and kicking. May do one other post soon but concentrating on the recaps for the "Kakegurui" drama and will have all ten episodes in a row. Still have a bit of work to do though as I still have five shows to view but it does feel good taking a bit of a break from blogging and sure many of the viewers who have their own blogs know what I'm talking about.
These 'single series' posts take the most work and get just a so-so amount of views but these are my favorite ones to do. Once things are back to normal will have one for ANGERME who just released a single, while most J-Pop group's singles have gone downhill quality wise songs from the Hello Project groups are still oki doki. In the title it says #66, actually this is only the fourth post for the MM 'Singles series' and that number refers to it being the group's 66th single.
The A-side of the three song single is "Furari Ginza", usually H!P group's don't have as many songs as Nogi or AKB does but then again MM doesn't have nearly as many members. At the top is the PV for the song, it's subbed in English and it just hit a million views today. Sales have been very impressive so far, the single was released on October 24th and according to Oricon it's already sold over a 100,000 copies. it won't be the #1 song of the week though as Arashi released a single this week which has already topped the 200 K mark.
The single was released in five editions and above are the covers for them. Gone are the days when MM could sell over a million for their singles but they've made a nice comeback the past few years. At one point the sales had dropped to the 70,000+ range but these days most singles are selling over 125,000 copies and they remain the most popular H!P group by far. These here are a few promo pics for the single and there's a total of 91 pics for today.
I like the uniforms they're wearing for the single and can't think of the song but they really remind me of ones AKB wore in a single around 2012. MM will be preforming their first show in Mexico next month, after that they're flying to NYC to perform at an anime convention and the group has done many concerts in America.
Those bottom two are screenshots from the PV, the song isn't as upbeat as their previous singles but it's still a mighty fine song and can't think of one MM single that hasn't been good. Many blog pics recently from the group, so many can only post a handful of them for today.
Haruna has been my second fave member for a while and she's the group's oldest member. But sadly in August she announced her graduation which will be happening at the end of their tour which will be sometime in December. She's done a pair of interviews for the website 'The.TV.jp", first four pics are from a solo interview while the other pics are from the second one featuring a trio of members.
Morning Musume's tours are usually quite long, they just started their new one for the single and as mentioned it'll be going on until mid-December, these are pics from their tour book.
May be a part two for this single as there's two huge group mag spreads about to come out. Most of the members are nineteen or older but there are a few gals younger than eighteen and have omitted their solo pics in everything such as this new spread which is from the November 8th edition of Weekly Shonen.
My fave member by far and perhaps in my top five for fave current Idols is Mizuki who will be turning 22 in four days. Didn't check while doing this post but had heard her fifth photobook will be coming out in November and what great news that is as she's way overdue for one. She has this mini solo spread which is from the October 30th issue of SPA!.
EDIT: Just checked and the PB will be released on the 30th which is her birthday.
Final thing for this huge post is from an event which took place on October 22nd. On that date the group was at the 31st 'Japan Best Glasses Wearer' awards show and they won a special prize which I would presume is for a singing/Idol group as Nogi won the award last year. Plenty of pics here from the show along with a video and the event took place at the Tokyo Big Sight Hall.
