Erika Toda: "Ano Hi no Orugan" movie event pics plus a few other tidbits....
First Erika post for this year and wouldn't doubt if there will be two more before the month is over. She has another film coming out in June but after that we may not be hearing too much from her. That's because Erika has the lead role in the asadora drama "Scarlet" which begins on September 30th. An asadora is a morning drama which airs on NHK at 8:00 am. Though the shows are just 15 minutes each there's six in a week for 26 weeks or a total of 156 episodes, takes a long time to film those dramas.
Have started on about seven or so of them but have never finished one, usually stop after ten weeks as they're so long but will say every one has been a solid show. Seeing as how Erika will be in that show will give it my all to view the entire show or at least make it past ten weeks. After a very slow period from 2015 to mid 2017 the past year and half has been much busier for Erika as she was in two dramas last year plus a movie in 2018.
Erika's looks have certainly changed over the past decade, that's about how long I've been a massive fan of hers. That's to be expected as she will be turning 31 this August, still looks tremendous though wish she would visit her local 'All you can eat buffet' more often. Few pics here from her Instagram account which were posted today and are from today's main topic.
Have two small Erika mag spreads for today, hoping she'll be in more of them promoting her upcoming film. First two pics are from the February issue of Sakura Saku while the others are from Pococe, least she had the cover for both mags.
Title of the upcoming film is "Ano Hi no Orugan" which translates over to The Day's Organ. Release date for the movie is February 22, it's set in 1945 just before the war ends. Erika has the lead role in the film, her character's name is Kaede Itakura and some stills from the film.
Yesterday there was a screening for the film at the Marunouchi Piccadilly in Tokyo. In the film Erika plays a kindergarten teacher which is why there's some small children at the event. Hopefully there will be another event for the film, if not will be back on the 22nd with info about the premiere. Plenty of terrific pics from the screening which is followed by a video of it.
Have you watched Dai Renai? I have three episodes left but it is a great drama.
ReplyDeleteSigh, just the first two shows which were both good. Am currently viewing one K-drama along with two from Japan, once those are completed will go back to it. Erika has already won one award for her performance in the show.
