Aqours: The second 'Shuka Saito post'(yay!)....
Aqours doesn't seem to get enough attention but they're one of the best J-Pop groups and can't think of anyone else who can top them in concerts. Have done a bunch of group posts and the nine members are just so likable, their singles sell well as most hit the top ten but the sales just don't compare to the '46' or '48' groups. One complaint is that they don't put out enough group songs, yes they do many of them but almost all are for animes which are such short songs. A usual album only contains a handful of regular length songs but perhaps I haven't looked hard enough.
On to Shuka though and as the heading says this is her second solo post. Have had a few for two other members but need to work on having some for the other gals. This could also be considered a somewhat belated birthday post as Shuka turned 23 on August 16th, that's another reason to like the group as their members are a bit older. Plus it's more enjoyable watching their concerts as they just have nine members, sometimes when Nogi has 25 or so on stage it's just too overwhelming.
Not a huge post but I enjoy these gals so try to do as many as possible for them. Last week Shuka released her first mini solo album and is the second Aqours member to do so. Title of it is "Kutushimo" and I just learned a new word as that means shoelace in Japanese. There's six songs on the mini album and will try to find a video of one to have at the bottom of the post.
On August 16th Shuka held a mini birthday concert in front of 3,000 fans at the Venus Fort in Tokyo, as you can see by some of the pics near the bottom she was a bit choked up.
Few recent Shuka blog pics and the first two were naturally from her b-day.
Shuka does appear in a fair amount of mags but unlike her mates Arisa and Rikako doesn't do gravure spreads though there's an occasional pic in that vein. Have two sets for today but this first one was in the last group post but in case you missed it thought I'd have it again. Shuka does grace a cover quite often and she did for the April 29th issue of Big Comic Spirits.
She also has the cover for another BCS mag and this set is brand new from their September 2nd edition. Did find a video from Shuka's "Kutsuhimo" album, it's the PV for the title track. Just went to the Oricon site to see if the results from last week's album sales were ready. They were and the new album was in the fifth spot last week selling a little over 13,000 copies.
