Ratings had been going up for this series as the figures for these two episodes were the two highest ratings. Once again updated the top Main Cast list and hopefully it should be the final time. Needed to change some of the bio info as the years have gone from 2011 to 2015 and finally we've ended up in 2018, think the rest of the drama will be set in the year and let's get to the action.

Last recap ended off with a pair of scenes that would continue in episode eleven though those don't take place for a while. Instead we get to see what's become of Do-Jin and Jae-Yi in the year of 2018, that's Do-Jin in the top screenshot watching her current hit movie, "Blue". For so long Jae-Yi was a struggling actress, it appeared she began her career in 2011 and it's taken her seven years to become famous. But not as famous yet as her murdered mother Hye-Won who was one of Korea's most popular actresses ever, wonder if that's why Jae-Yi chose to be an actress?
"Blue" was the first time Jae-Yi has had the starring role in a film. In it she played a woman who couldn't speak and did such a great performance she was nominated for a prestigious newcomer award even though she had been around for years. That may have been the first film or drama Do-Jin had seen of his old flame, their paths cross once again in the recap but only for a moment. Jae-Yi has really become a popular actress as so many people on the streets notice her, even her one time rival Se-Kyung has been acting nicer to her though she told Jae-Yi she has zero chance to win the newcomer award.
On to Do-Jin who is a lieutenant for the Gangnam police force and a respected one too. At the station working as detectives were his two closest friends at the police academy, Yeon-Ji and Jong-Hyun, actually they may have been Do-Jin's only two friends at the academy. There's terror on the streets of Gangnam which is a section of Seoul, a person has attacked two people savagely late at night. There was no CCTV footage of the attacks but there was a short clip of the attacker leaving a scene, not much to go on but Do-Jin has already memorized all of his features.
His superior had teamed Do-Jin up with Nam-Kil who appears to be slightly older, their orders are to stakeout the area where the attacks took place. No action for the first few nights but Do-Jin did notice a suspicious person on the third night, he went to investigate while Nam-Kil waited in the vehicle. That person was in the clear but while Do-Jin was gone the real culprit did appear and attacked his partner Nam-Kil brutally as he stabbed him several times. Luckily for him Do-Jin came back in the nick of time, he was able to subdue the attacker but not before he himself got stabbed deeply. The pair both ended up going to the hospital but Do-Jin didn't go by ambulance but instead by a taxi!

Will quickly fill in a bit of info on Do-Jin's family which you can see in two of the above screenshots. One is of his step mother Ok-Hee who with her daughter has moved to Seoul where she's opened a small pork restaurant. But more importantly, as she says, her step son Hyun-Moo was just released on parole after serving many years for some vicious attacks, more on him coming up. Above the mother is a pic of her daughter So-Jin who is now 21, she had been applying at a hair salon which is famous and at the time Jae-Yi had been there getting her hair done for the awards show.
That bottom screenshot is of Jae-Yi making her grand appearance at the show whose name wasn't mentioned though it could have been me who missed it. There's no more attractive actress around these days than Ki-Joo who looked simply dazzling as you can see above plus do have many other screenshots of that scene. At the event before Jae-Yi left the van her manager Taek warned her to watch out for her long dress as it's Jae-Yi's first time wearing one at such a huge event. Her popularity has skyrocketed as Jae-Yi was was the most adored actress who took a stroll down the red carpet and once again I'm in a daze on how stunning Ki-Joo looked.
Jae-Yi is a shrewd woman and had it all planned out so no one would forget her that evening. As she was ascending the stairs to the auditorium she tripped on her dress and fell down, it was all planned out by Jae-Yi as she quickly was dubbed 'Trip Up Girl' and she knew how to get the maximum publicity. What topped the evening off more than anything else was that Jae-Yi did win the 'Newcomers Award' against all odds, seems as there's no stopping her career at the moment.
But there could be something to derail it and actually many things as we're about to see. First off after the awards ceremony Jae-Yi had entered her dressing room where there were many flowers and gifts awaiting her. We didn't know what one of the gifts was at the time but it was one that sent shivers through Jae-Yi which made her pass out. She was rushed quickly to the hospital by her manager Taek who drove her in his van, he couldn't let Jae-Yi's adoring public see her in an ambulance and she ended up going to the same hospital as Do-Jin.

Jae-Yi wasn't badly hurt or shaken, seems the pressure of the ceremony and her non-stop work had really affected her which was the diagnosis for now. That will change and soon Jae-Yi will wish it was just pressure and overwork that made her ill. Above we see Do-Jin at the hospital, even though he's a high ranking officer who had been stabbed it took him a while to be attended to. Through these past few episodes he's been having many flashbacks and imagining many scenarios, often they're with Jae-Yi and he imagined her lying in the bed next to him. Do-Jin had heard she was also at the hospital but it was just another of his mirages of her lying next to him.
So Do-Jin took it upon himself to look for Jae-Yi in the hospital though he had been warned to stay away from her. To me his time at the hospital was unbelievable as Do-Jin ended up walking down the corridors and through some lobbies with that wound of his, no doctor or nurse grabbed him and forced Do-Jin to remain in bed? Somehow that wasn't the case as Do-Jin searched high and low for Jae-Yi and eventually found her. Once again he may have saved the day but by doing so he's created more bad publicity for Jae-Yi as the reporters now have an inkling about her past, more importantly what affect Do-Jin may have had on it.
Jae-Yi wasn't in the hospital for long and had been discharged but the press had heard of Jae-Yi's condition and had rushed there. They made her exit almost impossible, that was until Do-Jin came in to break up the mob and escort her to safety. But by then Jae-Yi's manager had arrived and it was he who whisked Jae-Yi out of the hospital, when she was asked who Do-Jin she just responded by saying he was a fan. But there was one reporter in the crowd who knew better who of course was Park from the Sisa Line magazine. What an unscrupulous person she is and Park will do anything for a big scoop, doesn't matter to her how badly she hurts others such as Do-Jin and Jae-Yi.

A character whose role is getting bigger by the episode is Jae-Yi's brother Moo-Won who we see in the above three screenshots. He's two years older than his sister and never changed his name after their parents were murdered, he still calls his sister by her real name Nak-Won. Moo-Won is now a high raking prosecutor at the Seoul DA Office and rumor has it he's never lost a case, at two years older than Jae-Yi that would make him about thirty and the year is 2018. He's someone who also despises the reporter Park, last recap he ended up smashing her camera when she was taking pictures of Jae-Yi and as you can see he's run into Park again.
For the second and final time Moo-Won has warned Park to stay away from his sister and to cease the story she's doing on Jae-Yi lest he gets it cancelled before it gets printed. Moo-Won is a quiet man but from what I've seen he's not someone you want to mess around with, for now Park takes his threat seriously as we don't hear much about the story for a while. The middle screenshot above shows the siblings having dinner together after Jae-Yi's discharge from the hospital, during that scene we learned something very important which was that she still lived at the house their parents were killed in, the location of it is in Gowon.
Even though Do-Jin is such an important figure with the Gangnam police force he never learned that his brother Hyun-Moo has been paroled from prison. We've seen his brother and Do-Jin eventually hears the news in the next episode, his stepmother is also aware of his release. Hyun-Moo is still one vicious person who hasn't stopped his crimes now that he's been released. Don't know if it's the case but I've been wondering if it was him who was the assailant in the two attacks Do-Jin is investigating. The man who did stab Do-Jin and his partner isn't considered a suspect in those two attacks and more about it comes out in the next recap. One other thing we've seen is that Hyun-Moo is staking out
Jae-Yi's house, does he have revenge on his mind for his father?
On to the finale which is once again a short scene which isn't a cliffhanger and doesn't get resolved until the middle of episode thirteen. Do-Jin had been out on medical leave for a few days because of his stab wounds, first day back he's assigned a new case and who should it be with but..... Jae-Yi! Her manager suggested going to the police for help and more importantly for her safety. That's because of the package Jae-Yi had received on the night of the awards show, in a box was a bloody hammer which looked exactly like the one used to kill her parents! Also there was a note referring to her as Nak-Won which did set up a somewhat suspenseful cliffhanger. However the next episode doesn't begin with the conclusion of this scene but this one brings us to the end of this recap.

Did mention in the above recap that was undecided on whether to have four posts in a row or do my usual two posts with four episodes. As you can tell went with the latter, things have settled down quite a bit so the story is much easier to follow. Plus wouldn't be able to write up the other two until this weekend and didn't want a large gap in time between the recaps. So far it's not the best of suspenseful shows I've viewed though it is getting much better, one wish is that they would cut out the flashback scenes of the action that took place in 2006.
