"Dakara Watashi wa Oshimashita" drama preview....

Do enjoy Korean dramas more but am going to take a break from viewing them for about two months. While they are better than most current Japanese series the length of them is just too long, most dramas average between 16 to 20 hours. After you hit about the ten hour mark it often feels like a job watching them regardless of how superb they may be, perhaps I've also watched too many of them the past year and need a break from them.
So for a while it'll be Japanese shows I'll be viewing and seems most viewers prefer reading those recaps versus the ones for Korean series. Have lucked out recently with my Japanese dramas as the past five or so have all been quite good. Have a few other 2019 shows I'll be getting to plus there's a series beginning on October 3rd I definitely will be tuning into.
Up next for recaps is this show which I don't want to type out again. Just started it earlier tonight and will be viewing the second episode after this post. It's just an eight episode series which is such a relief plus the shows are only 29 minutes long or a tad less than four hours. That's so much better than watching a twenty hour Korean show which is almost like watching ten or more movies in a row, don't know how some drama fans can watch fifty or so dramas in one year!

Not going to give away many spoilers but just a heads up for any drama fans on what to expect next. Will do two batches of four recaps which should make the show easier to follow plus at 29 minutes an episode they shouldn't be the length of tomes. Will begin writing them up Friday(?) so hopefully will have the first batch of four this Sunday, a week later should be the other group of four.
The drama stars Sei who I really like quite a bit and do don't many other fans here as her solo posts usually garner many views even though they're mainly conservative. She plays the role of Hana in the drama but the lead character in the show is Mana who is played by Yuki Sakurai. Have mentioned her in another post and she's an older woman who I really like as she's a terrific actress and quite a looker too. She reminds me so much of Nana Katase who is a long time fave of mine. On July 11th Sei and Yuki were at an event to promote the drama which began on the 17th, it aired on NHK.

But my fave of the cast is Ruka Matsuda who has become a huge fave of mine though she doesn't have too many posts yet. But am working on one though am waiting for a mag spread for her, if one doesn't come out soon will still try to have that post. Ruka plays the character of Karin in the show who is the leader of an up and coming J-Pop group called 'Sunny Side Up'. The quintet did do a mini performance for the show but haven't got to that episode yet though have watched some videos from it and actually the show may revolve around them in a certain way.

A very brief spoiler from what took place in the first episode. Mana is an OL who is about thirty in age, she had just broken up with her fiance and during that occasion had lost her phone. It was found by a man who was going to a 'Sunny Side Up' show that night so Mana went there to get the phone. At the show she noticed how horrible Hana was on stage and began berating her badly in front of the audience. This led Mana to going back to another performance to apologize and that's it for the quickie spoiler.
Mana is sort of a narrator as every five or so minutes she comes on to describe the events as when she was narrating the year was 2019 but the show started out in 2018. When the show ended Mana was talking to a detective who was questioning her about pushing a man off a roof. That threw me for a loop and really can't wait to go back viewing it. The drama was a late night show that began at 11:30 pm so the ratings weren't too high but think most viewers really enjoyed it. Some screenshots from the first show and hopefully can have those first four recaps this weekend. As I mentioned 'Sunny Side Up' did do songs in the show and had a regular PV for one of those songs which you can view after the pics which is called "Ochanoko Sanisai".
EDIT: Actually the video is one you can't embed so here's the link if you want to view it.
