The only negative to this year's list is that it appears the average age will be the lowest ever. Ten from last year's final list have made the list of sixteen so of course that means they're all one year older. But it seems the older faves that have dropped out or aren't eligible any more have been replaced by gals that are much younger. For instance above is Misato who was third on last year's list and thought she'd be battling for a top five spot again. However this health crisis has affected her more than anyone else as she used to appear at so many events. That hasn't been possible so she hasn't had a post in over five months so it looks like she'll be dropping off the list.
Her age is 29 and the ages of a few others who won't be remaining in my top twenty are aged 34, 28, 28 and last year's winner will be 34 in November. They've been replaced by new faves who are 26, 25, 23, and a pair who are 22. It's not a problem nor does it bother me though I do prefer slightly older gals but there could be a few changes before the final list. Tsubasa is a fave who won't be appearing on the list, she's only had two posts this year and there's no way she'll hit six. She's the only person to make every yearly list and also my all time top twenty list. She's 28 in age and still looks mighty fine but she's really become such a boring person and her modeling pics these days are just so overly drab.
In that above post mentioned how 21 currently are eligible for the list. Not going to go back and edit that post but you can increase that number by one. Tomi has enough posts and though I really adore her she often slips my mind. She wouldn't have made today's list of sixteen but if it does get increased to twenty then she has an excellent chance, after these pics the list will resume.
#8.... Hinako Sakurai, had a jump of six spots from the first list
Not the fave of many here as her posts get the least views of any Japanese women I post about. But if you've read any of those posts you know how much I truly like Hinako who is just to ultra kawaii. Last year she was fifth(!) on the yearly list to the amazement of most viewers, she had the largest increase in positions from that first list.
#7.... Risa Watanabe, second on the first list
Without a doubt the my biggest disappointment on the list. Last year Risa finished second and wasn't far off from being #1, that was the case up until June of this year too. But the lack of Keya activities has really hampered Risa as she's had no posts for almost two months, that was after having seven in four months and last year Risa had nineteen. There's still an excellent chance she can move back into the top five which I hope happens as Risa could be my second overall fave on the list but just hasn't done enough this year to warrant a higher position.
#6.... Minami Umezawa, not on the first list
The highest ranked newbie and on her post done two days ago was unsure where to place her. Was going to have Minami a bit lower as this is her first time on any kind of list. But then thought this is where she deserves to be, for as much as I enjoy Nogi only two members made the list. There should be at least two posts for her next month as on September 29th her first photobook will be released and could that propel her into the top five?
#5.... Bae Suzy, seventh on the last list
Suzy is a staple now on these yearly posts, this will be her fourth year in a row on it which ties her for the fave in the third spot with the longest current streak, the all time record is five. Not sure why she jumped up two positions as she hasn't done much these past two months which should be changing as she has a new drama coming out soon so there should be many upcoming posts. Her next post with be #50, not a huge amount but will be the first Korean actress to hit that mark.
#4.... Haruka Fukuhara, moved up four positions from the first list
It's not to me but this may be the biggest surprise on the list to many. What a massive fave Haruka has become and in all honesty she may be the most attractive gal in the top sixteen. Last year she was in the eighth spot and was too on the first preliminary list, her jump of four positions ties her for second for moving up the most. Won't go into too much today for her b-day is coming up in a weeks and will try to do a post for that occasion.
#3.... Rika Izumi, also third on the first list
May need to change her name to 'Miss Consistency' as in the previous three years she's been third, fourth and sixth for an average position of 4.3. Have a strong feeling Rika will never top a yearly list which isn't a bad thing considering how high up she always is. But if another all time list is done she's on the short list of faves who would be vying for the top spot. What's a tad baffling to me is how her popularity has waned a bit. While 95% of the gals I post about get more views for than ever that hasn't been the case for her as her views have dropped and wonder why?
#2.... Marie Iitoyo, first on the previous list
Not the end of the world but last year this happened to Marie. She had been first until September and settled for fourth place which is still impressive. This pandemic in Japan has affected Marie quite a bit as one activity she did so often was attend events. That's been an impossible task for Marie these past five months but have still been able to do many posts for her though they have been slowing down. There'still three months to go before I start compiling the list so obviously she has plenty of time to regain the top spot but will Marie be like the above fave and always be a bridesmaid here?
#1.... Miona Hori, moved up four positions from the first list
Have been leaving many clues in posts that Miona would be taking over the top spot but don't think I ever mentioned her by name. It really does help being in Nogi versus any other Idol group though not many members have made the yearly list. The group just does so many activities from events, dramas, TV specials, photobooks and just too many other things to name. Miona has had a part in all of those activities and she just may be the busiest fave I've posted about this year.
Miona had a solo role in the 'Nogi Cinema' drama, two segments on their 'Nogi 46 Hour TV' show, a special where she traveled to New Caledonia and there's also too many other happenings to list. Plus her second photobook came out in May and when I come back from the mini break that'll be the first post you'll see. At first I wasn't into it but it's really grown on me and Miona looks so darn good. That'll be her 14th post of the year, the gal above has sixteen to rank #1. So it's very important to have a lot of posts as all in the top five have eight or more while for the next eleven only two have.
