Hinatazaka46: 'Hinatazaka de Aimashou' show from August 16th recap, #70

Though I've been a fan of Hina for a long time have only watched their 'Bingo!' shows and the ones they had when members of Keya. This is show number 70 and I really want to get to know the group and members so much better, these variety shows are often the best way. Have viewed two of them and to me they seem so much better than the current Nogi and Keya shows. One reason is that the group is much smaller which to me is a big plus, another is that all of the first generation members usually appear on the shows and so many gals are now between the ages of 22 and 25.

Didn't want to go back too far with the shows, #77 will be airing tonight so mid August seemed like an okay starting point. With so many of my faves from Nogi either having graduated, will soon or perhaps next year need a group to follow more closely, Keya would seem like the logical choice but am getting tired of their scandals and mismanagement. Have been following Hina for a while but will do so even more in the future as they are such a likable bunch of young women and of course Kyoko is one of my current fave top ten Idols.

Wanted to do a pair of posts today but don't think it'll be possible as I'm trying to do at least five others, this is the sixth I've written up so perhaps it'll be doable. In the above pics you see two men who are in their young 40's and are the show's hosts. The pair are the comedy duo of Audrey, on the right in pink is Kasuga who seems to be the more stable and quiet one of the team. His partner on the right is named Wakabayashi who is a bit louder and think they're better than the hosts of 'Keyakitte'. So may or may not have two recaps for today but do plan on catching up soon and then doing a post weekly. Subs were done by the folks at the 'Team Hinata' site which is dedicated to the group.

The name of the show means 'Let's meet at Hinatazaka' and another reason for starting off with this episode is that I heard it was a very fun watch. That was true and while no '46' variety show is a must watch many in the past were so enjoyable and as mentioned this seems to be the best show going these days. Hina currently has 22 members, think thirteen were on this show which is good as many can get more screen time. Sadly Kyoko didn't but that's also good as I know her well enough and want to learn more about the other members. Did have a hard time when they referred to their mates using nicknames and hate to check who they were talking about. Right above is the co-host Kasuga with the theme for this show and wouldn't it have been better for Halloween?

An episode is about 25 minutes in length, 24 when you take out the credits and intro. For this 'horror show' five members came out and told a story to the eight sitting in the audience in hopes of scaring them, the five had about four minutes to tell their tale. Some were a bit spooky to an extent while some turned out to be a bit hilarious. What I'll do is have five segments for each of the story tellers, will give a brief rundown but will let the screenshots do most of the explaining.

First to tell a tale of terror was Miho whose character in the 'Re:Mind" drama was the main focus of that fine show. She talked about going on a school trip eight years ago to Fukushima and was that right after the disaster? Late at night when the seven girls she was with were sleeping she heard some strange noises right outside the door. Those sounds didn't awaken anyone else so Miho went to check out who was outside, when she slowly opened the cabin door standing there was an old woman who somehow disappeared slowly into the darkness.

Not too frightening though it did send some shivers up the member's spines. Not the end of the tale though as four years later when Miho was in her second year of high school another incident took place. This time she was at her home alone when the same sounds from four years ago were heard by Miho. But before she could investigate suddenly a pair of woman's hands circled her throat and was slowly sucking the life out of her. But in a state of panic Miho jumped up to safety but to her surprise there was no elderly woman there!!!! That final bit did put a few more shivers into the girls listening and have to say she gave the best presentation though a pair of other stories may have been better though barely.

Up second was Shiho who may have had the funniest story and she didn't mind she was the person all laughed at! She was discussing a Hina tour from the Summer of 2018, when on tour the members room with someone and in this case her roomie was Mirei. Shiho was in the bathroom cleaning and changing out of her Hina uniform when she heard some odd noises from the outer room. At first she didn't think anything of it figuring it was just Mirei playing around but the noise didn't cease. Now Shiho was quite curious about was going on and stuck her head out of the changing room. But there she saw that Mirei was fast asleep, those eerie noises remain a mystery to this day.

But the story wasn't quite finished as the pair also roomed the following year after a show. Once again Shiho was in the changing room where she heard more odd noises from Mirei(?). Peeking out this time she found her roomie wide awake and to her bafflement Mirei pointed to the left of Shiho and screamed! Was there a ghost about to pounce on the unsuspecting Idol? No, Mirei was pointing at a mirror which showed the naked butt of Shiho, that gave Mirei that much of a shock?! Does make you wonder do the gals all shower or change together after a TV show such as this one or performing on a music show? Guess Mirei thought seeing Shiho's naked butt as a horror(!) and even Shiho doesn't like to look at her naked self, though had she asked me....

Making these segments a bit longer than I want so will try to shorten them. Up next was Sarina who one night the previous December heard strange footsteps outside her door, she lives with her family and has the attic room. No one else of course heard the creaking of stairs when she mentioned it the following day but odd things began happening around the household. Such as the TV suddenly turning on, the shower running with no one there and then her father somehow lost his cellphone. That was a mystery as he had just been holding it and it somehow had reappeared on the first floor of the house. Sarina's idea was to create a 'Naccho Stick' to exorcise the demon but was it successful? Bit of an entertaining story though the horror was a bit lacking.

This may have been the best of the five and the quasi horror tale was related by Miku. Once again the location was a hotel after a concert, it was late at night and she heard some a potentially dangerous situation developing in the next room. When Miku went to investigate she heard a conversation that sounded like one between a teacher and his student(hmmmm?).  But when she opened the door who should be there but two of her mates who were Hina and Hiyori who had been play acting.... or were they? Will admit the way Miku explained things was slightly confusing but her delivery was so solid. After making that discovery she headed back to her own room, in the corner with her back to her was Akari. She wouldn't answer to Miku who crept closer and when her mate turned around it was a .... Mummy Woman!

Final segment featured Hina and was the shortest of all. Short because she kept flubbing up the story, none of the members, hosts or us viewers weren't quite sure what she was taking about. In a nutshell it was from an incident at Summer camp eight years ago when Hina heard many strange sounds from the top mattress in the bunk bed.... or was it the bottom one(?) as she said in both scenarios. Hina had to do a few retakes and it still didn't help her nor did it help she had a hard time keeping a straight face.

This was getting long so didn't explain the final story completely but that's what the screenshots are for. All in all an enjoyable show and as mentioned want to watch these more to get to know the members a bit better, also their faces as I don't know the second generation's that well. The next post features the following show which was #71 and may have been a bit more fun.
