Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Marie Iitoyo: For being this year's #1 fave she's demanding that the name of the blog be changed....

.... from 'aitoda' to.... 'aiiitoyo'!!!! Hmmm, it's not a bad suggestion though she's a tad late with that demand.... nine years to be exact! Though the blog's header name is 'Nao....' the site address is 'aitoda' and I've actually liked that name quite a bit. To me it rolls off the tongue rather nicely and though I hate to offend her 'aiiitoyo' just doesn't have the same magic. But it was still a nice request from her though it may mean I'll be sleeping on the couch again tonight, sigh....

But the title to the post is 100% on the money as Marie did end up running away with this year's title and there's been no suspense unlike 2017 and 2019 which ended up in virtual ties. What's really impressive about being number one this year is the top twenty is the best to date and can't believe some huge faves that won't make the cut. Not sure of what their exact position will be but the gals who finished between second and sixth would have had a great shot at being #1 in previous years. Just noticed as I was typing this but doesn't that pic above remind you of the person this blog is named after?

This is Marie's 36th post of the year, a 'Nao year' goes from December 1st to November 30th. Ten have been for dramas which means 26 have been in this vein which is a record and she has thirteen days to add to it. But think in December I won't have a regular post for her until her position for number one comes up which should be around the 22nd. Will have four drama recaps in the beginning of the month but seeing as she's the busiest gal I've ever seen maybe there won't be a break with posts.

Enough gabbing about such things, will have two intro posts coming up for the fave's list so can talk about things more then. Mentioned drama recaps and there were two done yesterday for the 'Sono Goen' series that began two weeks ago. Marie has the lead role in the show playing the character of Riku though she doesn't have enough screen time. Who does are the guest stars as Riku is the owner of the Elephant Express service which delivers packages for the Mercari site. So the stories revolve around what's in those packages and to Riku she's actually delivering 'dreams'. They're a true site which is the largest flea market in Japan for buying/selling used items. It's a decent show though a bit fluffy but those first two shows were enjoyable.

Marie has been busier in these last three years than anyone else by a huge margin and can never recall such a busy stretch like that for any other of my other faves. So really hope she doesn't get too burnt out and disappear for a few months which she's never done. Her break won't be happening for a while as in January she has another drama beginning. It's actually two as the series will have two seasons and will be airing until almost May. Let's get on to some new pics and have forty new ones from the past ten days and about twenty older ones that had never been posted. This first batch is from the More magazine site, she's been a model for them for well over a year now.

Marie has also been a model for Oggi magazine and in August celebrated her second anniversary for them. I really think their site pics are so superb and these are all from the past two weeks.

Shame there's been no events for Marie to attend these last eight months, imagine how many more posts she may have had then? Have a fine set of pics here from an event that I don't recall ever posting about and can't remember the event at all. It was the 'Tamahashi Comic Con' show that ran from May 25th until May 17, 2018. On the 24th Marie was there to promote the event and to introduce a new line of Bandai Spirits figurines called 'Chogokin Heroes'. She looked mighty fine at the event and can't understand how I had missed it these past 2 1/2 years.

There were some decent videos from the event but will pass over them and have a different one at the bottom of the post. It's a new Marie CM for Oggi and Family Mart, they're a convenience store chain and she's promoting a new Latte coffee you can savor at their Famina Cafe section, that'll be after one more batch of pics.

That final batch is one supreme set of pics which is from the December 1st issue of Flash. For so long used to moan about the lack of Marie mag spreads but can't these days as she's been in about ten the last four months. And above all the last five have been among her best ever which is why I keep thinking to myself could Marie's second photobook be on the horizon?
