Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Mai Shiraishi: Asahi beer event pics/video plus many other goodies....

Just Mai's second post of the year and third since departing from Nogi almost six months ago. However with over 380 posts to date she's someone I never worry about having posts for though save for a spurt from August until October last year was her slowest yet for activities. Don't know the exact figures but Mai has been the highest paid Idol since 2017 so $$ definitely isn't a problem. But was a bit surprised she didn't have more things lined up for her post Nogi career as she's not a model for any magazine or fashion site these days plus hasn't appeared in any film/drama for over a year.

Guess if I had a seven digit bank account I'd probably kick back for a while too. Have always said it's wise to strike while the iron is hot and especially if you're an ex-Idol but in Mai's case if she takes an extended holiday doubt if anyone would forget about her. With pics like these at the top it's impossible to forget about her and it's a shame we'll probably never see a follow up to her "Passport" photobook and it's hard to believe that's now over four years old! So while not a lot of recent activities have fifty brand new pics, an older spread that deserves an encore viewing plus some graduation cards that came out last October yet had never been posted.

Whew, have run out adjectives to describe Mai's perfection so not even going to have any for her, whew for the millionth time! Just mentioned graduation cards and have a few from that October 26th occasion. She's featured here with eight of her ex-mates and have more for her next post.

Did the first and only 'Nao's Top Twenty Faves of All Time' list back in August/September 2018. Mai finished in the 15th spot back then though may have deserved to be a few positions higher. Am planning on doing the second list next Spring, figured 3 1/2 years was enough of a gap between lists. Mai will definitely move way up and though she's not my current #1 she'd be no lower than my third biggest fave of all time. So am hoping 2021 will be a busy year for her as to me she may have the only chance of toppling my current number one, few more pics like these would help.....

Sigh, still at a loss for adjectives, sigh. Mai hasn't been entirely inactive these past two months, so often my faves are doing things which we don't learn about for a while such as filming a movie or doing photo shoots. Senka is a new beauty product she's done a few recent CM's for, they came out in March and you can view one of them here: Senka CM

As mentioned Mai isn't a model these days for any magazine or fashion site and she probably doesn't need to as I'm sure they're breaking down her door to have her appear in their mags. Here's some new pics from the More site which are....

.... 'clean versions' of her spread for the March issue of More.

That's the only new spread for today so why not go back in time for a superb oldie that deserves an encore viewing. This sweltering set is now four years old and is from the May 12, 2017 issue of Friday which are some outtake pics from the "Passport" photobook.

Hard to top Mai's gravure pics but I've always enjoyed the way she looks at events almost as much as those extremely skimpy pics. Yesterday she was at an event for Asahi beer and has done some CM's for them in the past. The occasion was for the opening of the 'Asahi Dry Beer Museum' which is located in Moriya City, Ibaraki prefecture and it officially opens on the 20th. Mai was appointed as the museum's ambassador and hope to see some promo videos for it. If all else fails she could become a bartender and won't say the way too obvious joke about the beer's head! Plenty of ultra superb pics from the event and you can view a video of it after them.
