Sei Shiraishi: Talk about a blast from the past(!).... part one....

Don't know how it happened but this is the first regular post for Sei since July 2019!!!! Did recap her fine drama "Dakara Watashi wa Oshimashita" after that but somehow those had been her last posts. Do recall working on a few Sei posts last year and thought she had a pair of posts done which obviously didn't happen. So if there's any fans out there expect a mini barrage of posts over the next month. Know there will be one in two weeks for her new film coming out plus some other 2021 tidbits, perhaps will do a post for missed 2020 activities.

Most of those posts will be for Sei's current drama which I just began last night. That pic above is from it and will get into much more detail later on in the post. Sei is a very busy actress and appears in so many dramas. But her problem is she doesn't do enough other activities that make for interesting posts such as being in mags or at events. But do have enough of those pics for a solid post, four mag spreads from 2020 and am holding back two from this year for her next post. Actually she does appear in many mags but very few of her spreads are ever large, biggest one for today is only five pages. First 2020 set is from the March 20th edition of Friday.

Another small set from the September 8th issue of  Flash, it was promoting her drama at the time "Kyoufu Shinbun". Do recall that show but never viewed it, was just looking at the synopsis and it looks like my kind of drama so I'm going to see if it was ever subbed.

On October 10th of last year Sei released her first photobook "Kiyoshi Shiraishi". It was kind of a greatest hits collection of pictures from 2016-19 and also many that were taken new for the PB. Pics here are from an event/interview that took place on October 9th but had to be streamed with no audience. Here's a link to a video of the event: Photobook event

Sei had a pair of spreads to promote the book, first one is from the October 13th Flash.

Second spread for the PB is from the October 30th issue of Friday.

Sei will be turning 23 on August 10th but like so many actresses in their young twenties still does high school roles. That's kind of odd as the past two years she hadn't done any parts as a teen. But Sei does have the lead role and its as Koharu in the drama "Girl Gun Lady". It began on April 6th and has two more episodes to go, ten in total. Was surprised it's being subbed and actually there's a Bandai YT channel set up for it as they're the ones subbing it. Have viewed the first two shows and will be doing three batches of recaps or at least that's the current plan. Hopefully can have the first three this weekend, the next three a week later and then the final four.

As mentioned Sei has the starring role as Koharu who is a meek senior in high school. She's not being bullied but for the most part is kind of invisible in the eyes of her classmates and has very few friends if any. But Koharu is into model making and after a long period of not doing that passion was talked into buying a set from a shop owner. Upon completing the model, which was a small figurine of a 'Gun Girl', Koharu fell asleep and shortly after she woke up but not in her room but in a parallel world! Not a peaceful one either as she found herself in the middle of a gun battle between teams consisting of her classmates. Koharu had been enlisted to take the place of a fallen comrade on the 'Alpha Tango' team, when she arose the next day Koharu wondered if it was all a dream? It wasn't and won't give away any more spoilers before the recaps are done. It's really a zany drama and one packed with action, think I'm really going to enjoy this series and some screenshots from the first two shows.

Lot of cheesy J-Pop in the drama too! On June 4th Sei's next film "Mune ga Narunoha Kimi no Sei" will be released, she has the lead female role in the film. So am thinking her next post should be a few days after it's premiere and hope there is one. On April 29th there was a event to promote the film which like most dramas and movies these days s based upon a manga. After the event pics have the trailer for the film. Have mentioned it in her previous posts which is that to me she is such a dead ringer for Miori Takimoto and there's nothing wrong with being compared to her.
