Scandal: Two mini photobooks(!), "Scandal Show" and "Her volume 2"....

 

 Scandal had the first two posts for August and they were also the first two for the band who are my #1 act from Japan, I enjoy their music so much more than any Idol group. Vowed to have at least one post a month for them, this will probably be the only one this month so will try to have two in October. They're one of the few rock bands you can post about as they've appeared in quite a few mags over the years plus have many mini photobooks that are included with their albums. But just one member has a photobook and as many may know by now it featured Haruna. Did a post for the PB near the end of August and what a popular post that's been, the fifth most viewed one in the month. Shame there's no other books and how I would love to have had one from Mami who I like immensely.

 In these posts will feature one Scandal's singles and you can't go wrong with any of them though do prefer their songs from 2008-14 which are a bit rougher and punkier. May have that next post in the first week of October as their 30th single is coming out on September 29th but there hasn't been a regular album since February 2020. Today's single is the group's sixth one which is titled "Shoujo S"  which came out in June 2009 so it's over twelve years old(!), all of the members are now in their thirties. The song hit #6 on the charts and was the theme song for the tenth season of the "Bleach" anime. There was no regular PV for it which is okay for at the top of the post is a video of them performing the song live and it has a bit more energy to it, here are the covers for it.

 Now on to the photobooks mentioned in the title, have a few more after today's pair. Scandal's first 'best of' album came out in March 2012 and was titled "Scandal Show" so obviously the PB had the same title. The album hit #3 on the charts and every album to date has hit the top five yet none have been number one. If you're only used to Idol books you may not enjoy this but all fans will, there's 41 pics and each member has many solo ones.

 Second post done for Scandal had the pics from another mini photobook that was titled "Her Volume 1". That came out in 2019 and Her is the title of the group's own record label they started in the same year. It was actually more of a mini magazine and was included in their 'Masterpiece" single. This is volume two that came out in February 2020 and was included in their "Kiss from the Darkness" album. It was promoting their Spring tour which began the following month and if you get a chance to view any of their DVD concerts jump at the chance! This mini book has 36 pics and you can see how much they're changed in the eight years since the above book.
