Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Nogizaka46: Sigh, Mai Shinuchi's last post as a Nogi member....

Last one as a Nogi member but definitely won't be her last one ever by a long shot! Couple weeks back was reading some article where they were talking about how everything has a certain 'life span' to it. That could refer to so many things such as how long does a pair of pants last, how long a band stays together, a ballplayer's career, etc. So out of all those an Idol's 'life span' is one of the shortest things there are or at least if you're a female Idol. So I'm not broken up about Mai's departure from Nogi as she was with them for close to nine years and guess all good things must come to an end as another saying goes. As I've mentioned before it was those older members who really got me into Nogi during the period of 2014-16 and Mai was one of those huge reasons as she is just so witty, interesting, funny and of course looks fabulous. She shouldn't have a problem staying busy after leaving Nogi but hoping she'll remain in the spotlight and she really would make for a top notch host on any kind of show.

But this will not be the end of line as far as posts for Mai goes. For a while think I can do at least one post as there are some things from the last two years that have never been posted plus I bet so many fans forgot or have never seen her mag spreads, modeling pics and whatever from 2016-20. She's someone I like just so, so much so don't want to see her forgotten. This is already Mai's sixth post since December 1st so she's qualified for the yearly faves list, of course there's going to be a big drop off in posts and activities but I think she still will squeeze into the top eight.

One thing Mai won't be doing is hosting the 'All Night Nippon' radio show, she's been hosting that for about five years and has made that the most popular Idol radio show. February 9th was her last appearance on the show and she did break down slightly which is understandable, here's a video of that final show: All Night Nippon video

In future posts still have many Nogi cards to get to, few more from 2021 that hadn't been posted.

Guess this will be Mai's final batch of Nogi cards which are from their 'Nogi Fes' series.

Some recent pics form the Oggi site and think she'll continue as a model for them.

Mai's final appearance on the 'Nogizaka Under Construction' show took place on January 30th. She just had a 2 1/2 minute farewell segment at the end and as mentioned earlier she'd make for such an interesting host for any kind of show.

Her farewell concert took place on February 10th at the Tokyo International Forum. I haven't seen the concert yet but think it was streamed and really hope it was as it wasn't a sad occasion but more of an uplifting farewell. So sure I'll be able to get it sometime in the future and then will have a post for it but there were many pics taken at the show

Hmmm, may have to work on a 'pairs post' for the duo in the next to last pics. Have posted many promo pics for Mai's second photobook and this will probably be the last set of them.

Mai's second book was released on January 25th which was three days after her 30th birthday. After two weeks sales are at 30,000 copies sold and I honestly thought the total would be closer to 40,000. Sales are down for books compared to two years ago but those promo pics were just so stupendous, know she's not the most popular Nogi member but still thought the total sold to date would be higher. Will end off with more pics from the photobook which you may have seen before but they're so terrific an encore viewing definitely was needed. No other new videos other than for her final ANN show so after the pics once again have Mai's first and only solo Nogi song which is "Anata Kara no Sotsugyou" that's from their "Time Flies" greatest hits album that came out in December.
