"Pâtissier-san to Ojousan" drama, episode two of four recap

Main Cast: Being a mini drama it's a very small cast but there are two others who will be added in when they're introduced, most all of action takes place at the Patisserie Cheval pastry shop.

Tsubasa Sakiyama as Jouji Okuno.... Works at the pastry shop and his age is somewhere between 25-29. Appears to be currently living with the owner who has an apartment above the shop and Jouji has fallen head over heels for Fumiko but has no clue how to tell her his feelings. By the end of the second show neither still knows the other's name.

Natsumi Okamoto as Fumiko Haru.... About 24 in age and works as an OL. She only visits the pastry shop on Fridays at around 6:00 pm after her work week is done. Fumiko is a very quiet yet cute woman who loves pastries and keeps hoping Jouji will strike up a conversation.

Ryota Murai as Ryo Tatewaki.... Owner of the pastry shop who is around thirty in age. Ryo lives in an apartment upstairs from the shop and is trying to coach Jouji how to ask Fumiko out which has been a failure.

Yurano Ochi as Aki Misaka.... Fumiko's friend at the office and what an airhead she can be but also is the most enjoyable and fun character.

 Time has been zooming by in this series, it began in late July and now it's just a few days before Halloween. The dates have changed but not the on going saga with Jouji who is right above. He still can't bring himself to have a regular conversation with his huge crush Fumiko who still regularly visits the pastry shop every Friday around 6:00 pm. But perhaps there's a chance of getting to know Fumiko just a bit better, as mentioned it's just a few days before Halloween and the neighborhood will be having a party, to the owner Ryo's dismay Jouji said the shop would be giving out free cookies!

 In that first show we only met the three main characters but there could be a fourth. She's right above and her name is Aki, she's Fumiko's best friend and both work at the Sousoushi company office but no clue yet on what the company does. Aki is one oddball but that makes her so interesting and her energetic style is the complete opposite of Fumiko's. Aki is looking forward to Halloween and the neighborhood party but not Fumiko who doesn't want to attend. But there was no saying no to Aki who had an ultra cute costume all lined up for Fumiko, that should make Jouji's eyes bulge!

 These are 24 minute shows but they seem so much shorter than that, this episode seemed to be over in ten minutes. Though it's late October by the screenshots doesn't it look like it's still Summer? Another question is doesn't Fumiko in the orange costume look ultra kawaii along with her mate Aki?! So the week flew by as it's now Saturday and time for the huge Halloween bash. Fumiko is a conservative woman which is part of her charm and is another reason Jouji likes her so much. Fumiko was so uncomfortable wearing such a short skirt but not her best friend Aki who the first time saw what Jouji looked like and gave a thumbs up to Fumiko. The pair wanted to have some of those free cookies the Patissier Cheval shop was giving out but they were too late for that, instead they above had to devour some crepes from another shop.

 Jouji had seen Fumiko pass by and now was on a mission to see her as he had baked some special Halloween cookies just for her. But to him Aki may be a hindrance but in my mind she's so outgoing she would have definitely helped the couple connect. Aki eventually left to grab some drinks and quickly Jouji appeared on the scene though scaring Fumiko to death as he hadn't taken his monster mask off. There's too many characters like Jouji in Japanese dramas, men who just won't speak up even when it means a woman will say yes to a date. That's been his problem since even before the drama began and you can tell Fumiko is dying for Jouji to ask her out.

 So you can see above that Fumiko was thrilled with Jouji's gift but would have been more pleased if her asked her out! He noticed some cream on Fumiko's cheek from the crepe she ate, Jouji wiped it off for her and that truly embarrassed her to no end. Seems like it may have been the first time a man had ever touched Fumiko but it such an innocent act, she soon ended that conversation saying she had to find Aki and it was the last they saw of each other that day. But later on that evening when Fumiko was eating those delicious cookies she thought to herself why did she panic so badly at being touched, Fumiko wished she could do that whole scene over again.

 Jouji may be a top notch baker but is also a bit of a clown. That evening he never wanted to wash the finger that touched Fumiko's cheek and for the time being he's in seventh heaven. But the next time at work Aki asked Fumiko is Jouji that nice with all of the customers or only to her? That she didn't know and that could be the main story for the third episode. That brings us to the end of this show and still after two episodes neither knows what the other's name is!!!! There will be a new character in the next show which is another baker at the shop who has been on vacation, have a feeling he may try to attract the affections of Fumiko. The next two episodes haven't been subbed yet but they should be very soon so hope to have the other two recaps done within the week.
