Kii Kitano: Another 'Blast from the past' post with such a humongous fave....

When you do a search for her you'll usually find the name of Kie which I've never understood. Her name in Hiragana spells out Kii which is the name I prefer using for her so don't know why an E in English is always added to her name. That title is no exaggeration for at one time there may not have been a bigger fave of mine than Kii but if you've just started visiting here in the last few years you would never know that. On the first 'Top Twenty Faves of All Time' list done about four years she finished in the 19th position which was about fifteen spots too low! For the period of 2011-15 Kii had a hundred posts and she was right there with being my number one of all time and would have liked to have seen that happen but some bad career moves really hurt her.

One bad decision was giving up her singing career, I have all of her singles, albums and videos which are quite good. But her biggest mistake was made in September 2014 and in a post done then made a comment about that. Kii became a host of the "ZIP" entertainment show which airs at 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. So at the time said how that would affect her appearing in dramas and films which is exactly what happened. Hosts only have two year contracts so Kii was on that show until September 2016 but she's never quite recovered from that. She did mention in an interview how she would wake up at 2:00 pm(!) and then go into the studio until 7:00 pm so that left so little time for filming dramas or movies. Up until 2015 had seen her in five dramas and eleven films and she often had the lead role in them, have just seen one of her movies since then.

So I was definitely more than bummed out when she disappeared for such a long stretch and she's only had four posts since 2018. So this could be Kii's only post of the year though I truly hope not as she's someone who I've missed too much to describe. But things are looking up a bit as she's had the lead role in two dramas this year. The first began on February 14th and is called "Ojisan ga Watashi no Koi wo Oen Shita Imasu" which still has two shows to go. Have done some searching for it but just can't find the drama anywhere but will continue to look for it. The main problem is that it airs on Tokyo MX which is a cable channel, even if I find the show it won't be subbed and it's poster is the second pic.

First pic is of her new drama that begins today and have a feeling this one I'll be able to find. "Nanji no Na" is this new drama's title which airs on WOWOW, that's also a cable channel but their shows you can usually find. This looks to be an intense thriller and will have a total of eight episodes, if it does get subbed of course will be recapping it.

This will be one of the smallest posts of the year but have had a mag spread since December which was becoming dated so needed to do something for her. It's also a very belated Happy Birthday for on March 15th Kii turned 31 in age, all of the women I posted about a decade ago are that age or a few years older. This very small batch of pics is from a new interview with the Asahi site to promote the drama that began today.

More interview pics for the new drama with the Music Voice site and you can notice how she's dressed the same, here's the link to the interview which also has a video: Music Voice interview

One thing we haven't seen in a while is Kii appearing at an event. The last thing I've seen her in was the 2017 film "Tap: The Last Show", it came out on June 17th of that year but had it's first screening on May 15th at the Omotesando Hills Theater..... whewwww, she looked mighty fine in my book....

Kii rarely posts Instagram pics as this is all there are in four months. Kii has never been married nor has she had any steady man, in 2020 she did an interview where she said being single was something she enjoyed and it wouldn't bother her if she never got married....

Hopefully there will be some future posts and in them you'll always see some older pics. That's because I doubt if any viewer has ever seen them before so in a way could be considered new. This is a real oldie but goldie from the April 4, 20111 issue of WPB.

Final set of pics is from the December 21, 2021 issue of Flash and had been holding on to it for four months. Kii was the cover girl and does she look so terrific, she has some sort of magnetic pull on me that I can't explain and may not want to! So because she had the cover thought it would be the start of many new activities but except for the two dramas that hasn't been the case. After the pics is a short yet superb video for this spread.
