Mai Shinuchi: Still keeping the 'Nogizaka graduate' flame burning....
Just another 'one post day' and that may be the way for the next two days. Sometimes need to take a break from doing posts to work on things so there can be even more posts if that makes sense. This weekend will be the first regular 'Girls Awards' show in 2 1/2 years, over a dozen Hina and Keya members will be there so been working on those posts a bit early. Hope the pics from those shows are good and also that there's a lot of them. Also am watching a few of their variety shows plus am in the midst of writing a trio of drama recaps up so while you may not see many thing for a few days all of a sudden an avalanche of posts falls on you.
That bottom pic above is an outtake one from Mai's second photobook which had never been posted before. Ten days ago posted the pics from that book and it currently has the fourth most views of any post for this past month. However I think it deserves many more, it won't be my #1 photobook of the year but it easily will be in my top five. My plan was to have have a Mai post every month but am way early with this post then as it's her second for May. But had over 45 new pics so thought why hold on to them and there still should be a post next month to please her fan base which has really increased. It's kind of odd that Mai's posts have been getting many more views than the posts she had when she was still with Nogi. Every other's members posts have seen a decrease after their graduation and this is the first time the opposite has happened.
It may seem hard to believe but this is Mai's tenth post since December 1st, that's when a 'Nao Year' begins. She's the first one to reach ten posts but don't think she'll be number one in that category at the end of the year. But Mai does have an excellent shot at being my #1 fave for 2022 and that too is unbelievable. There's still over six months to go until the countdown begins but as of now would give her a slight edge over everyone and this year will be by far the toughest one to choose who my #1 is but in a way that's a good thing. There is one negative that could out a crimp in that quest to be number one, will say what it is near the bottom.
A while back began to post all of her Nogi cards from 2021, have been working backwards with that. This batch finishes off the year and wonder should I do her missed cards from 2020 too? When a post needs some pics think I'll do that as most cards from that year haven't been posted and sure there's some Nogi fans which collect the cards that are posted.
There may not be as many things for Mai's June post so held one thing back, Which are screenshots from the final half hour of her February 10th graduation concert which started out a bit too slow but turned into an enjoyable yet sad occasion.
This small batch of pics are from the Hominis Media site and also have the link to it. The interview took place on April 26th and Mai was promoting a stage play that won't be beginning until late July, she's also going to be in a mini stage play in early June. Also talked about her radio career and she does host a new show that began a month ago: Hominis Media interview
When Mai was with Nogi she posted a fair amount of blog pics but really not all that many. Which has really changed since her graduation as this large set are all from the past month, that first one is my fave pic and you'll notice a few with some other Nogi graduates.
That sad news mentioned in the beginning is that on April 9th Mai 'graduated' from being a model for the Oggi fashion site. That bums me out as her pics for them were always superb and as the years went on the amount she had at their site kept increasing. So this is her final batch that came out on April 9th and in future posts will have some encore viewings of older pics from years ago. That was a bit of a surprise and could graduating from Nogi have anything to do with it?
Will end off on a high note with this fabulous set from the June issue of Tokyo Calendar. Mai visited the Grand Hyatt Tokyo Hotel for an afternoon of tea and snacks, after the pics is a really good video of that afternoon which all fans should view and the bottom three are from the photo shoot.
