Yui Kobayashi: Is now demanding that a Galaxy be named after her!!!!
Hmmmm, having a Galaxy named after you is a new one for me and will have to mull over what would be a good one. There are such names as Andromedia, Suflower, Tadpole and of course the Milky Way. So wonder what would be a good fit for her and any suggestions from you viewers will be helpful. Every now and again run into a 'blase' period' and am in one of those slightly right now. Mainly for doing posts on J-Pop Idols so think I will take a break from doing any Hina and Keya group posts until August along with having any for many other Idols. But that doesn't include Yui and there's no woman who I have enjoyed doing posts for more than her. Plus will do any for my mega faves but all in all just need to cut back on the Idol posts for a while which I try to do a few times a year. However am hoping there will be a post for an AKB member this weekend, it's someone I've liked for such a long time but she hasn't had a post for eons.
So of course there will never be a slowdown for Yui posts but when you write up as many as I have over the last few years for Idols a breaks are seriously needed. About this time last year was figuring out the 'Top Twenty Faves of All Time' list, who would make it and what position they would be in. That list began on August 1st and Yui finished in the sixth position and that post was done in September. Did mention then that had thought seriously about placing her in the second position but felt a few above her were more deserving. Looking back on the list think she and #7 should have been two spots higher but sixth is still an impressive spot. Also mentioned in that post if Yui remains busy and stays with Keya another 2-3 years she would easily be my #1 on the next list which I wouldn't do until 2026 and so far Yui's on pace to do so.
But the more immediate concern is can Yui be my #1 fave two years in a row? That's very difficult to do and for now would place her in the second position but we still have five months to go until number one is revealed. Yui does have a streak of fourteen consecutive months with a post but from December until May just had one post a month. Back then said if she wants to be a repeat champion she needs to have a few months with two or more posts. Well that's happened in June and July so if she can keep that pace up it will be a battle for this year's top spot! This also makes it 48 solo posts since January 2020 and that's quite impressive, not sure but that could be the most for anyone since then or least for Idols.
Yui's posts are usually much larger anyone else's and today is no exception. Her last post was done a little over two weeks ago yet sill have over 85 pics for today! They will be a mix of new things plus some oldies, I like to have encore viewing of things from 4+ years ago as I bet many of you viewers have never seen the pics before or had forgotten all about them. Let's being off with these new photos from Yui's IG page and how I wish she posted more of them. The bottom ones are for when Keya was in Paris last weekend for their yearly Japan Expo and have talked about that trip enough already.
Have some Yui group cards here, the top five are for single #5 which was titled "Sakurazuki". The others are for the sixth single "Start Over" that came out a little over three weeks ago and could end up being their best selling single, the bottom three are actually promo pics for the single.
Those huge fashion shows rarely take place in the Summer and there's none for this year. In the Autumn is when they start up again and the 'Tokyo Girls Collection shows will be taking place on September 2nd and October 7th. Yui and about five other Keya members always appear at those shows so am looking forward to them. But am looking forward more for the September 30th 'Girls Award' show as I think the models look better at them. This batch here is from Yui's first ever appearance at a 'Girls Award' show back in 2017 and she looked pretty darn good to me back then too....
Yui will be in her first non '46' group stage play which is titled "Three Villains of the Hidden Fort". It will open in Tokyo on July 28th where it will be staged until August 13th, then will move down to Osaka for a week. Hoping there will be an event for the play and if so will have those pics in her first August post. Yui just released a mini video to promote the play and that's after these pics for it. The play isn't a small time production as there's some known actors in it, think she has the lead female role.
Yui has done a few interviews to promote the play, this set of pics is from the Live Door site and here's the link to it: Live Door interview
Here's another interview which is from the Smart Flash site and I like this one better as Yui was talking about Keya and also their departed captain. The bottom five pics are from the site but the first two are from the July25th issue of Flash which promotes the play: Smart Flash interview
That two page spread is the only new one for today so let's go ay back in time for this set from volume 124 of Marquee. It came out back in 2017(!) and don't think I've ever posted it again, of course Yui looks different these days because she's older but then again there hasn't been that much of a change.
Last month it was announced that there would be a new group game called 'Saku Koi' and yesterday was the launch of it. Have some of Yui's promo pics for the game here and at the bottom of the post will have a video that has a lot of info such as the links to the game and more.
Whew, think I got to everything and this final batch will wrap up this post. This month Yui celebrates her fifth anniversary as a With model and it's kind of odd how she doesn't have any new pics at their site(!) but she had so, so many from April until the end of June. To me these photos are so terrific so let's go back in time for this encore viewing from March and April 2021 as I bet many have never seen them before. After the pics check out that new video for the 'Saku Koi' game which was a fun video and also features a trio of my fave second generation members. Speaking of trios really like that bottom photo and if somehow one Yui isn't enough for you....
