Kana Nakada: Who better to begin off the ghoulish month with?!!!!

The answer to that above question is very, very few women and who would have thought that at the beginning of the year? EDIT: Just popped into my tiny head that with Halloween approaching shouldn't Kana ๐Ÿ˜ be considered to be all Treat and no Trick(s)!!!! Not me nor bet any other of you faithful viewers and the biggest surprise of the year is that she'll have more posts than any other (ex)Nogi in 2025! Sorry that September wasn't a busier month for posts and that's rare, usually August is the slowest month of the year. Least the posts have been terrific but there's just so fewer of them, I do work as hard as ever on them but when my favorites end up taking long breaks at the same time there's not much I can do about that. But still try to keep a positive attitude about things, least I have no plans on shutting this blog down like so many of my somewhat peers have done, in all honesty have never really thought about when or how this blog will cease being....

The biggest reason for the recent slowdown with posts is of something that happens every year or so, it's been that way for decades and always will. Which is of things Turning Over, one example could be of a new wave of gravure models dominating the amount of new mag spreads and digital books. That's been happening over the last few months and sure you've noticed how fewer posts there have been for my top gravure models. I don't care all that much about these new models who don't look all that alluring and are often too young so am just biding my time until my older favorites hopefully make their return. The same goes for J-Pop Idols and hasn't there been such a huge turnover of them the last few years? Yes there has and perhaps we've seen more graduations in the last four years than at any other time! There's no first or second generation members remaining for Nogi and many 3G gals have left also. No members remain from the first generations of Keya or Hina so for the first time ever no current Idols will hit the six posts needed to qualify for the yearly faves list. I still wonder why so many Idols leave their groups if they're not going to do anything? They may remain in the spotlight for a few months but then they disappear for good, more need to emulate how Kana has done things since leaving Nogi and what a success story she's been!

I admit to being somewhat sappy as when certain underdogs come out on top it pleases me quite a bit. Kana is the best example of that and if you go back ten years you would see how I've always liked her immensely and often said how she was the Glue that held Nogi together. She was never in the spotlight too often but she was the member you could always count on and she was one of the most highly respected gals in Nogi as far as the other members went. Never could do many solo posts for Kana but she had quite a few photos in Nogi group posts, I truly thought when she graduated five years ago we may never hear from her again. But how wrong I was and perhaps many others were too as Kana has had one of the best solo careers of any Nogi graduate, even better than many of their 'superstars'! Of course her biggest claim to fame is being such a brilliant Mahjong player, she's in Japan's pro league, co-hosts two shows about the popular sport and has written two instructional books. The last two years Kana has also become a PT gravure model and though she doesn't have as many photos as regular models her pics are almost impossible to beat! So deep down it does bring a smile to my face as I like Kana so much ๐Ÿ˜ and the last two years you viewers are seeing why I've had such a crush on her for about a decade!

Will be ending this post off with a newish digital book, the two above pics are from a newer book and perhaps a wise idea would be for Kana to also open up November with that book? Sounds like a good idea to me and the only reason for holding on to today's book is that Kana has become quite popular here! For the last three weeks she's had two posts in that section for 'Most Viewed Posts of the Last Thirty Days', was waiting for one to drop out. That didn't happen and am writing this up on September 29th, set the publish date to be October 1st and think that less popular post should drop out of that section in two days. Did say how Kana has become such a favorite with you viewers and wasn't she worth the wait?! She sure was but not to me who has known about her for over a decade. This is her ninth post of the year, the first eight have an average of 835 views per post which is very impressive and you should enjoy today's post also! For the first time ever Kana qualified for a yearly fave's list and will have more posts than any other (ex)Nogi member, this is nine and will have her tenth in exactly a month. An early prediction is that Kana will be fourth on the fave's list though could move all the way up to second! That I wouldn't mind and will do a preliminary post soon for the list which will sadly see the fewest ever eligible women.

There may be one other Nogi gal to make the list, she's above and how I would love to see her emulate Kana and release some gravure books and spreads! At the beginning of August Kana celebrated her 31st birthday so is 2 1/2 years younger than her mate above but that did make me think of something. Which is that if Kana does finish second on this year's faves list it would be the first time the top two posts were of women thirty in age or older, soon posts for gals that age will be the norm. One good thing about Kana not having too many posts while with Nogi is that there's some older things I can of her and mainly group cards. It being October will try to post many pics for the semi-ghoulish holiday, she has the honor of being the first woman this year with Halloween cards or pics in a post!

Have another batch of Nogi cards which are ones for the current month. The cards above and below from October 2020 are Kana's final Nogi cards, shortly after their 'Nogi Fes' series of cards began and to me those were Nogi's best but most first generation members had left when they began to be released. Hmmm, not sure why I included that top card but it looks good and where has that one time massive fave semi-disappeared to?

Like so many others over the last two years Kana has opened a fan club so that's where she posts most of her newish photos instead of an IG page or Twitter(X). But do have a few recent photos below and the the kind she posts the most are of her clad in her Mahjong uniform, both before and after a match. You will see a few of those kind below with the last three being some promo pics for an instructional series on the game. What Kana never does enough of is having regular kinds of pics like those first four, wish she had more in that vein. The four after that were posted at her fan club site and she does have an event coming up for members which won't include me....

Do have a new magazine spread for today but will throw in a second one that's from the June 9th issue of Young Magazine. On May 27th Kana released her second photobook and that's been a popular post with everyone here as it's currently the fifth most viewed post for the past month and this spread had some outtake pics from the book.

That's one stupendous book though I do slightly prefer Kana's first book that came out exactly five years ago. The quality of the photobooks this year was quite high however can't recall seeing a year with so few books released. Kana has a pair of recent digital books, she's had four this year and all have been overly super duper, she was the cover girl for the September 9th issue of Flash which had some photos to promote the book.

We've hit the end for the first post of October and it will be one that could prove difficult to top! For the finale have the digital book that the Flash magazine released on August 26th and contains 59 sweltering pics! As mentioned a few times I've liked Kana quite a bit for about a decade, she's always looked superb but has really bloomed with age.... WOWOWOWOW!!!!.... and "Bloom" happens to be the title of this book. There is another newer book, hope I can wait until November 1st before posting it and that book has over eighty pages! The only negative for her this year is that Kana hasn't released any videos from her many mag spreads and four digital books, she's never had a gravure one to date so will skip having any for today. However there's so many videos of her playing Mahjong on YT and plenty are new ones, the 2025-26 M League season just began a few weeks back.
