Been looking for some shorter dramas to view and have found a good amount of them though to date they've been hit or miss. Will get back to the longer series soon but wanted to take a break from them as the ones that last for 16-20 episodes can take a whole month to watch. This is also a good way to learn about more actresses and did find a good one with Ji-Woo.

On to the thrilling conclusion and while the most of these two episodes were quite good the beginning wasn't as we hit our first slow stretch of the series. At the end of the previous episode once again Byul-Yi was able to save Woo-Joo from an early death, it's not making her ex-Reaper boss too happy nor Yong-Gi the reaper who is supposed to escort Woo-Joo to his afterlife. That started the first show off and things went quickly downhill for a while. Unsure if Woo-Joo thinks of Byul-Yi as the love of his life yet but he's seeing her in a different light and wants to spend as much time as possible with her. He did and that's what really slowed down the first ten or so minutes as the couple went to a beach where they somehow killed ten minutes of the show doing nothing, yawn....
But one good thing we learned more of was Byul-Yi's 'Mission Book', there's a screenshot of it above. There are seven missions she needs to accomplish on Earth before she can return to her afterlife as a 'regular dead person', no reaper status will be awaiting her. As you can see above she's now done three of them as she finally kissed Woo-Joo, it was also the first kiss he ever had. Those missions get done rather quickly in the show, Byul-Yi knew what her fate would be when she finished them but it was never mentioned what would happen if she failed to complete all seven.
Another potential couple could be EMT Se-Joo and the doctor So-Ri. Wouldn't think a doctor would want to be with an EMT though Se-Joo is quite a nice guy. But for some reason he's rather intent on not expressing his feelings to So-Ri even though she has spilled her guts out to him. This will be ongoing throughout the episode, just in case I don't get to explain much about it the pair do get together but naturally there's a few bumps along the way.
As mentioned that pace in the beginning was just so slow but we're now past the 12 minute mark and things do begin to pick up quickly and remain interesting until the end of the sixth episode. The one minor problem to me was that some things were a tad confusing, have to expect that in a short series. Byul-Yi had been notified that her mother(!) was lying in the hospital and not doing too well. The only person who would know of that was Se-Joo, he remembered Byul-Yi from seven years ago but she doesn't as her memory had been erased. However it was the doctor So-Ri who had informed
Byul-Yi of her mother being at the hospital, that scene was kind of confusing.

But as you can see above So-Ri did tell Byul-Ri she remembered her from seven years ago, she had been a rookie doctor when Byul-Yi was brought to the emergency room where she died. You would think a doctor wouldn't believe that a person could be reincarnated but So-Ri never questioned why Byul-Yi had returned to the real world. Another screenshot you can see above is the bottom one as quickly Byul-Yi has completed six of her seven missions and this may be the most important one.
When Byul-Yi had met her tragic fate seven years ago and was struck by a vehicle the driver was never found. First on the scene had been Se-Joo along with his father, for seven years he had been guilt ridden and the reason why was finally was revealed to Byul-Yi. Se-Joo had been first on the scene to help the dying Byul-Yi and that was because... he had been the driver of the vehicle that ran her over! What a shock that was to Byul-Yi as she had really come to like Se-Joo and had confided to her reaper female friend Gak-Shi the reason she may have been on Earth was to save him as for the entire time she thought her mission was to save Woo-Joo which may not be true.
Byul-Yi was beside herself when she heard Se-Joo's confession, she refused to forgive him and wanted him out of her sight. 'Forgiving' was to be her sixth mission and as you can see eventually Byul-Yi was to come to grips with what happened, she did forgive Se-Joo as the accident was mainly her fault for she ran in front of the car. But sadly during this time Byul-Yi's mother succumbed to her illness and passed away in the hospital, could life get any worse for Byul-Yi? Yes is the answer as in the course of a few minutes her mother died, her friend Gak-Shi had left Earth to become a full time reaper and it's finally time for Woo-Joo to meet his end as there's nothing Byul-Yi can do to stop it.

Gak-Shi's parting gift to her friend was a ticket to that night's Woo-Joo concert. The pair had drifted apart but there really was no reason for it as both still cared about each other, his career commitments were probably the main reason. Also a reason was his somewhat relationship with Byul-Yi as the media had gotten hold of a photo with the two of them holding hands, when it was posted on the internet Woo-Joo's fans became quite upset. So upset that when Byul-Yi arrived at his concert that night she found out it was canceled due to poor sales. She was so distraught but somehow managed to set up her own concert(!) in seemingly one hour for Woo-Joo and his remaining fans.
That was held at the old abandoned building Byul-Yi had lived at when she was a reaper, it didn't look too big but it was as a few hundred fans somehow squeezed into the makeshift arena. Woo-Joo too was distraught at his concert being canceled, in a depressed mood he roamed the streets when he saw signs of the 'new concert' and arrived at the scene to the delight of his faithful fans. But also in attendance was the reaper you can see in the bottom screenshot who is Yong-Gi, according to him there's no more stalling and tonight is the night Woo-Joo will meet his deadly fate.
Certainly appeared that way as at the concert was one male fan, we've seen him at every previous Woo-Joo concert or event. With no reason given this unknown 'nerdy man' rushed up to Woo-Joo and thrust a knife deeply into him, doesn't look there's any hope as Woo-Joo was rushed to the hospital. Needless to day with Woo-Joo on his deathbed there's no reason for Byul-Yi to continue living, who cares if she completes her seven missions. She's all prepared to throw herself off a roof when out of nowhere the reaper Yong-Gi made an appearance. Not to escort Byul-Yi to her afterlife but he has an offer to make her, he had been talking to the main reaper boss Go who knows of a life Byul-Yi once saved and is prepared to make her an offer.... one that may mean saving Woo-Joo's life.

Will make this the final segment and hopefully can include every major detail. In the first episode we had seen Byul-Yi at the hospital, during the scene she had saved the life of a little girl though it's against the reaper rules to save a life. But that life saved was of Go's daughter, of course he wasn't pleased but had let it slide for it being his daughter. So with Yong-Gi being their middleman Byul-Yi and her ex-boss were able to come to an agreement, because of saving his daughter he'll let Woo-Joo recover from his stab wound and also let Byul-Yi to continue living. But the condition is that it can only be for seven years which had something to do with Go's daughter's life but being able to spend seven years with Woo-Joo is all Byul-Yi could possibly hope to ask for.
She also needs to keep everything a secret, one slip means the immediate end of the agreement. Go kept his end of the bargain up as a miracle took place at the hospital, against all odds Woo-Joo regained consciousness as his stab would miraculously disappeared. And who should be at his side when he arose but Byul-Yi, this was finally the moment when he realized he couldn't live without Byul-Yi and vice versa. As you can see above not too long after the miracles a marriage took place, it wasn't the official one which was never shown. To clarify better, the reason Byul-Yi has just seven years to live is that Go's daughter is once again going to face death, it'll be happening in seven years and in return for Woo-Joo being saved Byul-Yi says she will take the daughter's place in dying.
But in that marriage scene Woo-Joo revealed some secrets he's known of Byul-Yi for many years. Such as the love letters she sent him shortly before her death, in one she made a marriage proposal which he now accepted. Am kind of flying through this now but zero is being left out, the scenes were all interesting but they did last a while. Life for the newlyweds is nothing but bliss as they had a son, are living in Woo-Joo's mansion and his career has taken off once again. The main reason for that was because of his life with Byul-Yi, now that Woo-Joo is finally in love he can write songs from his heart and once again he's among the most popular singers in Korea.
But the good times aren't going to last forever and the couple know that. In her agreement with Go Byul-Yi had signed a contract that she could only stay on Earth for seven years and even a short time such as that was worth dying for Byul-Yi. The action fast forwarded to seven years from now when their son was three or four and Byul-Yi knows it's time to make her exit as a human being. It wasn't a drawn out process as one afternoon she was playing with her son on their lawn and eventually
Woo-Joo had joined them.
As I said there really was no warning Byul-Yi's death would be happening, she only had about a two minute notice and used it her hugging the eternal love of her life. As she departed from Woo-Joo's life we did see one last tidbit about Byul-Yi's which was that she finished her 'seventh mission' which was saying goodbye with no regrets. That was the final moment of the show as this mini series came to it's end along with this longish recap.

Did zip through that final twenty or so minutes but did cover all of the major points, the screenshots are a good way to view anything that may have been missed. Though episode five started out a bit drab did enjoy the series immensely, won't give it a high recommendation but it's certainly worth a watch. Kind of a quirky series that was fluffy at times but for the most part was fairly serious.
Will give this drama a rating of 8.8/10 which is one of my higher ones lately for Korean series. Not sure what's up next, on deck had been another mini series which is "Splish Splash Love". But an really leaning towards watching "The Secret Life of my Secretary" which just ended Tuesday. Haven't read any recaps for it but many thought it was just so-so but there's something about it that's appealing to me, we'll soon see what my decision is.
