Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Nogizaka46: 2020 Magazine scans #4....

My predictions are usually way off base but wouldn't doubt if it'll be a slow stretch for Nogi these next 2-3 weeks save for one member. Was thinking they'll be preparing for their '8th Birthday Concerts' which take place in February plus they'll be recording their 25th single along with filming the videos. Makes sense but the group always surprises me but wouldn't mind it being a bit slower to have a few more posts on some other faves.
There's two Nogi birthdays that will be taking place this Wednesday which is the 22nd. However there won't be a post for either of them as there's just been such a shortage of pics for the pair as of late. As you can see Erika is one of the celebrants and she'll be hitting the age of 23, hope this prediction is right but I can see her staying in Nogi for a few more years. While most fans prefer her "Intermission" photobook pics so much more and who can blame them that top one is my #1 from her though all of her pics are superb.
The other birthday gal is Mai who will be hitting the age of 28 and is Nogi's oldest member. She's a huge fave of mine and though a bit older don't think she has any plans on departing soon. She was an Undergirl for a few years and is now (hopefully) a permanent Senbatsu member so doesn't make sense to leave once things are going so well.

While no new mag spreads or modeling pics of Mai do have some from the 17th as Nogi once again took a trip to Taipei to perform a concert, they were just there in November. With her is another huge fave of mine who doesn't need an introduction.

Of course that's Kazumi above and her 26th birthday will be taking place on February 8th. Was just thinking that she's one of only three gals to be a Senbatsu member on Nogi's first 24 singles. Few new pics from the 'Live Japan' site where she was talking about the concert which was titled 'Nogizaka Live in Taipei 2020' and the show took place today.

Past two Nogi group posts had many New year's cards that had come out two years ago as there were none for 2020. This should be the final batch of them and for the most part they're all Undergirls.

Hmmm, do have a way of seguing my way into things. That bottom pic is of Sayuri who is a first generation member but didn't appear on the A-sides for all of Nogi's singles. Her graduation isn't getting talked about often enough but she seems like such a fun gal to me and is really into Sentai shows. Have read her graduation will be taking place during their four birthday concerts but don't know which one yet. She's only had one solo post but will work on one for her departure. Many Idols appear in stage plays and so doesn't Sayuri but her roles are much bigger and the shows more popular. Her next play began two days ago and is based upon the novel "Heaven's Bookstore", I've seen the film close to ten times and highly recommend it. These pics are from a press conference on the same day as the play's opening.

The departed Misa released her first post-Nogi photobook about eleven days ago. In it's first week on the charts it ranked second selling 10,340 copies which is a fair amount but not for a Nogi member even if she is one who has graduated. Misa's Nogi PB came out in May 2017 and in it's first week sold 59,000 copies so what a drop it was sales wise, well over 80%. She was a popular member but not in the same league as Nanase so she's a perfect example of what happens to ex-Idols.
Speaking of photobooks in two days Mizuki's first one will be released, she was the member above who I said should be busy the next few weeks. Would think there will be an event for it this week but won't have a solo post for her as I'll keep her pics in these group posts. She did have a couple of blog pics last week with the book.

Pics here are promoting the photobook with an interview for the Oricon site. The advance printing of the PB was 140,000 copies so think they expect first week sales to be about half that, sure that will happen and bet there will also be at least one reprinting.

May as well keep on with the Mizuki pics and she has today's first spread which is from the January 29th edition of Weekly Shonen.

What I've been noticing lately is that more of the second generation members are having solo spreads and sadly most of them are still Undergirls but I think that generation, while being the smallest, may have been the best. This spread is with Rena who also had a set back in October, she'll be hitting the age of 23 in May and this spread is from the February issue of UTB.

Hmmmm, thought there was more than just this trio of mag spreads. More second generation members here who are avid bowlers(!) and if you do recall during one of Nogi's special 24 hour specials they did have a bowling competition. Ranze is the Undergirl who has the most solo spreads and bet she had at least seven of them last year. No solo spread as she's joined by my current fave Nogi member Hinako and if she has a real busy year she truly has a shot of being my #1 on my faves list, this set is from volume 21 of Overture which came out last month. After the pics is what appears to be a new CM for Asics featuring a trio of members. Think it's brand new as I had never seen it before and they do have their first beer CM for Asahi coming out soon.
