Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Maria Makino: Her universally acclaimed fifth unscandalous post!

Hello Project groups aren't immune from scandals or other negative activities but there hasn't been nearly the amount of them compared to 46/48 groups. A huge reason for that is because of the size of the groups and Hello Project ones are much smaller. C-ute only had five members for eight years and until late 2018 Juice=Juice also only had five members. The biggest groups have been Morning Musume and Angerme but they each just have a dozen. Meanwhile AKB must have well over a hundred members with all those teams, they've had many members who aren't well known who have been in scandals and such so those stories often get swept under the rug. So I think when a group is smaller the members know each other better and you don't see anyone make huge mistakes because of that as it's more of a family atmosphere.

This isn't the post to get into opinions about Nogi but there is such a world of difference between the '46' and Hello Project groups. So sure most Nogi fans know what's been going on and for now will hold back on doing any posts for them until an outcome from this disaster has been determined. Hopefully management will wise up and listen to their fans but '46' leaders tend to have a closed mind on such matters. Then again posts for Nogi and especially the more scandal ridden Keya have been slowing down drastically so no big deal in a way, just hope that the gals form Hina never get infected. But on the bright side that gives me a chance to work on more posts for H!P groups and I've always enjoyed their music more. Just so much harder to have posts for the members as they don't appear in as many magazines, at events or do a lot of outside work but will still be working on some posts.

Don't think we'll have to worry about having posts for Maria as this is her fifth one in three weeks. There should be two more coming up this month which will mainly have her 2021 activities but will also be including some newer pics. Think introducing Maria will be the best decision I'll make all year and you viewers will be in agreement with that as her four previous posts have all been extremely popular. So I'm hoping this will be a busy year for her as there's no front runner to be this year's #1 on the faves list, the number one's for 2016/17 were also Hello Project members.

Let's get right to things and members from Morning Musume each have their own Ameba blog and there's also a group one, these pics since the beginning of the year. As you can see some of the pics are of Maria with her latest photobook that came out on February 2nd. That's her birthday and the bottom pic is from that day, also many pics with her top passion which is Baseball.

Maria is a massive Baseball fan and her fave team are the Hokkaido Ham Fighters even though she's from Aichi which is in southern Japan. She's thrown out the first pitch at least four times at games and this set of pics is from last June 1st. On that date Maria threw the first pitch out at a Tokyo Yakult Dragons game and guess it's hard to travel to Hokkaido for games. Here's a video of the game which also features a segment on her getting pitching tips: Baseball video

So am really only going back a year in these posts for Maria's activities but will make one exception here which is this batch of pics for the 2020 Secret Honey Summer collection. She does model for a few other sites and you'll be seeing those pics in future posts.

Because I'm only going back a year for Maria's things these posts will just be medium sized so there can be more of them but all will have at least fifty pics. Maria is quite popular in Japan as she's usually the cover girl for the magazines she appears in. She has that honor for both of today's spreads and this first set is from the March 11th issue of Weekly Shonen Champion.

Final Maria set for today is from the March 15th issue of Young Magazine, it was promoting a digital photobook which was Maria's last post and that cover pic is unbeatable!!!! Following the pics is a terrific yet too short video from the photo shoot.
