These extraordinary posts for Yumiko's older books and pictorials will soon be coming to an end and who knows, this could be the final one! This makes it eleven posts in five months for her ancient things, ten posts for regular and web photobooks plus one that featured older magazine spreads and such. This is it as far as Yumiko's photobooks go and am going to miss doing these but very glad I did do these posts for her as she may have obtained a few new fans plus I bet many younger viewers had never heard of Yumiko. Who was among my first ever favorite women from Japan, perhaps if I was a few years older and had started this blog five years earlier she would be my #1 woman of all time!!!! 😍
Do have one other mini pictorial that came out in 2012 and that was the last time
Yumiko did any gravure work. It features outtake pics of another pictorial and let me work on getting some other older things as the photos in the set are truly among her best ever but there's not enough for a post. With any luck there may be one other set that I will be able to get but it's not easy these days to get things that are twenty years old. Keep forgetting but will soon be recapping
Yumiko's "Sky High" drama from 2003 and I have never seen it though have viewed the movie at least five times, she has the lead role in both of them. Used
mystifying in the title as this is a bit of an odd book,
Yumiko naturally looks terrific but when you view the pics you'll understand what I mean. This photobook was released exactly 22 years ago(!), October 2002 and was her seventh photobook. Didn't go in order of when they came out but after this one
Yumiko had two others which have already been posted, this book has a total of 98 photos.
Always love me some Yumiko Shaku- great to see these classic shots!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you and it's been a while. Same goes for me as I can never get tired of looking at classic Yumiko photos, hard to believe she's now 46 in age and now I'm beginning to feel a bit old too! Had forgotten all about it until your comment which somehow reminded me that the first drama I ever viewed was "Kiken na Aneki" and Yumiko as a hostess in the show was certainly breathtaking! But actually think the bigger reason for checking that out was because of Misaki Ito and she's someone I miss quite a bit. Had seen her in three films prior to viewing the drama which is why I checked the show out and as the saying goes the rest is history....
ReplyDeleteYumiko, Misaki...love both of them! As for me, I fell in love with Yumiko in Himitsu no Hanazono, such a cutie~
