Nogizaka46: The 'Mai Shiraishi post' #52....
There's been many J-Pop groups and rock bands who have cancelled their shows in Japan because of the health crisis. Bring that up because I had been wondering about Mai's farewell concert which I think may have taken place in April. But there was never an announcement on any graduation show and there's no way in the world there wouldn't be one, perhaps there would be a few of them. Know management wants one badly as it means they could release a photobook and a DVD of the show.
So wonder if Mai may stick with Nogi a bit longer than she planned? Have to figure she wants a final performance or two so guess it boils down to it won't be a question of if but when. Mai's still a popular gal here but not like she once was. Wonder if it has to to with her having so few gravure pics or spreads the past two years? Bet it does and of course we all want to see her dressed skimpy at times but to me and most fans it's hard to top her perfection.
Have had a lot of posts for Mai recently, think this is already her fourth one of the year and perhaps for the first time she has an excellent chance of making the top ten on this year's faves list. In all honesty she should be #1 and can't think of a good reason why she has never been. This is also her 368th post which puts her eleven behind the top gal who was her Nogi rival. Hmmmm, that got me thinking about rivals in J-Pop groups. It was well known that many AKB and NMB members weren't too fond of each other but have never heard any rumblings among Nogi gals.
Mai's last post was less than two weeks ago but since then have gotten another slew of new pics as she's going out in style or shall I say busy which wasn't the case for many other popular Nogi members. Of course Mai will be the center for her final single which is "Shiwase no Hogoshoku", covers for it finally came out last week. The group did perform four songs at last weekend's TGC show but surprisingly didn't do the new tune.
There's been many new cards lately and I'm certainly not complaining, sure soon we'll see some for her graduation.
Nogi has a drama currently airing called 'Nogizaka Cinema' which will run for ten episodes and has a different member as the star in each show. Have recapped up until the fifth show which makes me caught up with Beam subs who are subbing the series. Mai will be the featured member in the final episode and am looking forward to it, have to figure acting may become her main career along with modeling. These are some pics from the set, her episode should air at the end of the month.
Mai also had the lead role in the "Stolen Identity 2" movie that came out on February 21st, these are some interview pics she did to promote the film with the Walker Plus site.
Checked her previous post just before writing this up but my short term memory loss is so bad already forget if this spread was in that post. Sigh, not even that old yet to have that problem so just in case this set wasn't there will have it again(?), this is from the March 3rd issue of Flash.
Tokyo Calendar is a web magazine but think they also have a print edition. Every month they have a featured woman who is usually an actress, guess who their woman of the month for April was?
This is a fine looking spread that's from the March issue of Sweet and would think these are the kinds of pics we'll be seeing from Mai in the future, more classiness and less gravurish(?).
Many Nogi members were at Saturday's 'Tokyo Girls Collection' show that took place at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Shibuya. However there were no fans allowed at the show due to the virus crisis though it was streamed and the usual amount of photographers were there. Mai just took one stroll on the catwalk and it was for Ray magazine who she used to be a model for. Pics are decent but she's looked much better at these shows. No video from the show but do have a new Nogi CM following the pics for Asahi Super Dry. It's the first time they've done a CM for a beer company and wonder if she's ever tried a lager? Have the feeling Mai would be a wine or elite spirits gal.
