"Love or Not" drama from 2017, episode six recap

 

 Air Dates: March 20 until May 22, 2017 on dTV/FOD at 2:10 am,  then from July 20 to September 28, 2017 on Fuji. Total of ten episodes and subs were done by neutrinoxs.

 Main Cast: Just these characters but we see the boss of Kosuka and Wataru on occasion, will edit the bios as the recaps go on.

Yuika Motokariya as Mako Hirosawa.... Interior designer who is 29 in age and it appears she's never had a boyfriend. That's because Mako's heart still pines for a boy she met when she was nine and he saved her from some bullies who were trying to steal her rabbit doll. She finally met the man in the first show and he didn't live up to her expectations at all. But a person who did was Kosuke's best friend Wataru and they began dating in the third show.

Kenjiro Yamashita as Kosuke Usami.... Also 29 in age and the boy that helped out Mako all those years ago. He's currently a Salaryman with the Sanba Shoji company and is not that efficient of a worker. When Mako finally met Kosuke after twenty years she was extremely disappointed, in the first show he moved into the apartment below hers. 

Keita Machida as Wataru Sano.... Kosuke's junior at the company but he knows much more than his senpai and is often bailing him out at work. Wataru's father is extremely wealthy and the women flock to him but early on Wataru fell hard for Mako.

Reina Asami as Shiho Hojo.... Mako's friend since high school and she works as a free lance photographer. Like her friend Shiho is quite timid around men but does have a boyfriend who is a doctor though that may not be a lasting relationship. It wasn't as Shiho broke up with the creep in the fifth show and then began dating Kosuke.

Erena Mizusawa as Misuzu Mori.... Met Mako in high school, she's two years younger, and currently works as a web writer. She is just so darn attractive and also very outgoing, the next man has been trying to woo her but she's set her sights on Wataru. In the fifth episode we learned that Misuzu is the mother of an eight year old boy named Shin!!!!

Masayasu Yagi as Sota Yabuki.... Owner of the Itsomuno bar/cafe where Kosuke and Wataru often eat lunch or dinner. Sota has been dumped too many times to count by women, after meeting Misuzu in the first show he's fallen head over heels for her but the feeling wasn't mutual until the sixth episode.

 Hopefully I'm over my 'brain cramps' but as I mentioned in the last post am getting slightly burnt out from doing so many recaps this year. Four more shows to go after this one, will be dong those two at a time unlike the first six which were a pair of trios. Our couples seem to be getting closer to an extent in this show, even Sota and Misuzu who weren't exactly a couple but just may be very soon. Have been wanting to do a post for Erena who plays Misuzu but it's not working out well yet, will try a bit harder once this series is complete. She really is one attractive woman who has also been a model for so long which makes it hard to believe how few things there are of her over the years.

 Let's start off with Misuzu and Sota again, no need to explain what happened with the pair as you can just read the above post. But at the end of the show a furious Misuzu told Sota to stay away from her and also her son Shin as Sota's day with him turned out to be a disaster. At first the eight year old Shin has taken a disliking to Sota but did plead with his mother in this show to let him see him one more time as Shin is a Basketball fan and was impressed with Sota's talent at the game. Being eight years old of course Shin wouldn't be all that good but after spending another day with Sota he's greatly improved. So much that the neighborhood boys invited him to join them in a game for the first time, watching the scene was Misuzu and now she's having some positive feelings about Sota. 

 By the end of the show the two aren't exactly dating but they've grown much closer and Shin is secretly hoping Sota could become his new father. What happened with his real father is still unknown or what really took place when Misuzu got married at nineteen(?). But there is an official new couple who are right above, don't know if it'll last as you would think Kosuke would eventually end up with Mako. That's Shiho on the left above, in the last recap she finally ditched her creep boyfriend and Kosuke was there to comfort her. Shiho had also been the photographer on a project he was working on at the Sanba Shoji company where he's employed. But once the work was completed it appeared the two would go on their separate ways, that was until Shiho dropped many unsubtle hints and Kosuke gathered up his nerve to ask Shiho to be his girlfriend.

 Always seem to make that first segment a bit too long and struggle to fill up the rest of the post. So while Kosuke and Shiho have hit it off so well I kind of have some doubts about her which will be explained at the end. Didn't see much of Mako in the first half and that's because she was stuck in bed with he flu. It had gotten much worse and when she called her new boyfriend Wataru to bring her medicine he couldn't as he was stuck in a meeting for a few more hours. With no alternative Mako attempted to travel to a pharmacy but couldn't make it out of her building. However just arriving at his apartment was Kosuke who brought Mako back to her apartment but was kind of leery about being there as he knew his best friend Wataru would be arriving soon which did happen.

 Kosuke had kept it a secret from Wataru that he lived in the apartment below Mako's, he said it was because he didn't Wataru to become jealous but is there more to the secret than that? I think so for after their rocky meeting after not seeing each other for twenty years the pair have become such good friends but they're keeping that a bit hidden. So now that Kosuke's secret has been exposed he's decided to have a mini party at his place for the three new couples along with Misuzu's son Shin. A good time was had by all but the entire time there seemed to be a bit of tension in the air.

 That tension was caused by how well Mako and Kosuke were getting along, it wasn't noticed too much by Misuzu and Sota who now only have eyes for each other. But their chummy ways were noticed by Shiho and Wataru, don't think he's too jealous as he knows Wataru so well but can't say the same for Shiho. She's just gotten out of a relationship and to lose a new boyfriend so quickly would be devastating but Shiho's jealousy may be a bit too high. When Mako attempted to help clean up after the party she was quickly whisked out of Kosuke's apartment by Shiho who held a knife secretly in her hand for a few seconds giving us the impression she may be a bit psycho. That could be a possibility and that would end up adding much to the story, Shiho is really beginning to cling to Kosuke who doesn't appear to be aware of that yet.

 That brings us the end of this episode and seems my 'brain cramp' went away. So will have the next pair of recaps in a few days and with any luck the series will be finished this week. So far have been enjoying this show though will admit it's not a must watch but if you're also a Yuika fan then would recommend it. Am watching one other current drama, don't know what to view after that but perhaps a break from watching them is needed. Just occurred to me that Yuika's birthday is on September 8th so will have a post for her around then.
