Hinako Kitano: "Shounen no Abyss" screenshots and mini recap part one

 

 Very mini post but thought a few Hinako fans would want to see these screenshots. If you are a fan of Hinako will have a regular post in about two weeks, right after she attends the next 'Kansai Collection' show so will have pics from that plus also have some other goodies and news. "Shounen no Abyss" is Hinako's first regular drama and she's the only reason I'm viewing this. She has the lead female role in this show playing a twenty year old Idol name Nagi Aoe though in real life Hinako is 26 in age.

 Went into this series with plans to recap every episode as they're only 24 minutes in length. To date it's been a passable show and would give it a grade of 7.7/10 after four episodes. However it's an extremely depressing drama and one I would feel very uncomfortable doing a recap for each show. There's so much talk about suicide, there's bullying and so much underage sex, so while not a bad show it's not one I would enjoy recapping. Hinako has done an okay job through four episodes but as you can see in these screenshots some of what she says shocked me to no end!

 Will give thanks to Furritsubs for doing the subs which have been solid. The main story revolves around a seventeen year old boy named Reiji who is growing up in this unnamed small city. What a depressing life he leads as his brother is a shut-in, his father had left when he was small, his grandmother has dementia and he's bullied endlessly by his one time fiend Gen. Reiji does have one decent friend who is Chako and seems she's the only person he hangs out with. Both are fans of the semi popular J-Pop group Acrylic, Reiji has such a crush on their main singer Nagi. So to his and every viewer's surprise one night he runs into her in front of a convenience store where she's now working!!!! Nagi has said she's on a hiatus due to her health... and is working at a store???? That's never been explained and for some reason she instantly became attached to this high school nerd, their only conversations revolve around killing themselves! Within two hours of meeting each other they spent the night together which you can see in a few of these screenshots. The following morning a man happened to appear at Nagi's apartment claiming to be her husband!

 Don't think the two are married and the man's name was Esemori who is the age of Reiji's mother. This man is such a creep who is a semi-popular writer and in the third episode tried to bed his best fiend Chako! This Esemori is at least forty in age and so much of the action or talk has to deal with older people going to bed with someone so much younger. For instance Reiji even slept with his class advisor Yuri who is played by Rena Matsui, I like her a lot so threw in some screenshots of her. But she's 31 in age and is sleeping with a seventeen year old?! Plus Yuri is so infatuated with Reiji for no good reason, she had even started a bank account for his schooling without his knowledge and it now has over nine million yen!!!! There's a few other stories going on in this series but will stop this very mini recap now as I did want to keep it on the short side. So you can see by the screenshots and what I just talked about how it would be an uncomfortable drama to recap it in my usual style. But will do a part two for the final four episodes as I am curious how everything will play out and will make that post a bit longer, there's still three more shows to be aired.
