Subs were one again done by GEO9875, this was one huge project to do so will give a huge thumbs up for doing the subs and hope the recaps gives the series it's proper justice.

Main Cast: Wrote this up after viewing the first two shows and know there will be a lot of editing to the bios as we have so much to learn about the characters. The first two get the most screen time by far but the other four main characters are also very key to this drama. The setting is the Minato Police Station in the Naka ward of Yokohama and the station is part of the Kanagawa prefectural police. If you enjoy J-Pop songs then this show has some superb tunes, most know I'm a fan but do prefer the music from the 80's. Plus there's no beating the hairdos of women from that era! This series also goes by the name of....

Hiroshi Tachi as Toshiki Takayama.... You'll see Taka often in the screenshots. He's about a 35 year old man who is an investigator of serious crimes and the gangsters go out of their way to avoid him! Takayama has a bit of a 'cool persona' about him and is an ace with guns, he's the partner of Oshita but seems they didn't start working closely together until the first episode. While both are aces with guns their methods also get them in hot water with their superiors but the pair usually come out on top at the end as far as solving cases go.

Kyohei Shibata as Yuji Oshita.... About the same age as Takayama but looks younger. During the first episode Oshita blurted out he's got a bit of a shady past and it surprised many he became a sergeant. He knows how to pick a lock and some other methods criminals use, sure we'll find out more as time goes on. Like his new partner Takayama he is quite adept using all guns, unlike his partner Oshita isn't much of a 'people person' as Takayama is the one who often interviews witnesses, criminals or others.

Atsuko Asana as Kaoru Mayama.... Member of the Juvenile Division which shares the same office as the Investigative Unit which Takayama and Oshita are a part of. Karou has gone out to crime scenes with the detectives but they never let her get in on the real action. However she is a tough woman who used to be a regular officer and knows how to use a gun well.

Toru Nakamura as Toru Machida.... Not a rookie but hasn't been an inspector for all that long. Machida is the best fighter in the unit and also the women swoon over him but he does have a girlfriend which he said in the first show.

Nana Kinomi as Yuko Matsumura.... How about that hairdo?! Yuko is the chief of the Juvenile Division but haven't seen her make much of a contribution to any cases so far. She does share some unknown secret from the past with the Investigative chief Kondo that took place ten years ago, will that become part of the story? She's also quite the 'Fashion Queen' who often shows up at the station in some new glittering outfit.

Shizuo Chujo as Takuzo Kondo.... Chief of the Investigation Unit, smart man but seems to be more concerned on what he'll be having for lunch! But at one time Kondo was feared by the Yokohama gangsters and has been on the force for thirty years.

There's a few more minor characters such as the detective Yoshi, chief Tanaka and female officer Hitomi,  if their roles become larger will add them onto this list.

Previous recaps

Once again a different kind of case for our two cool heroes Oshita and Takayama. It wasn't a true case of stolen guns but one of guns that were borrowed for a robbery and then returned, you'll see what I mean in the recap. Once again there was a lot more goofiness compared to the first six episodes, mainly with the way Oshita dressed and acted. The previous day there had been a robbery at a Credit Union and shots were fired at the ceiling though no one was injured. The Minato police station has received a tip that the man involved was named Ryuzo Oe and the address was given. Arriving on the scene was of course Oshita and Takayama, at the door was a hot meal that was just delivered. Acting as the delivers the investigators knocked on the door and were let in by a woman named Hinako, supposedly Oe's girlfriend yet it was her who called the police!

Oe put up a good struggle but against Oshita and Takayama it was of course to no avail as he was dragged down to the station. There Oe did confess to the Credit Union heist but swore up and down it was the only recent job he's done plus insisted he's never used the gun to shoot anyone which was all the truth. However Oe's gun has been used in some other robberies and also some people had been shot, if Oe hadn't used the gun what was going on? As it turns out this gun truly was used for other crimes however each time the perp was a different man. Oe told the investigators he had borrowed the gun, after the job was complete he put it in a bus station locker with a third of the take as a fee. This unique way of gun borrowing is a growing problem for the police, there's been nine recent robberies committed this way and only four of them have been solved. Make that eleven robberies as later that night there were two robberies in the Yamamoto section of Yokohama, the first one is the above screenshot.

Fumio Yakazawa was the name of this newest perp with a borrowed gun. First he robbed a convenience store then a short time later a supermarket in Yamamoto but the second crime was the first time there was a victim. It was a small boy who overnight died from the gunshot wound, the Investigative Unit chief Kondo wants Yakazawa nabbed and NOW! This creep was located at a bar celebrating his good fortune, Yakazawa hadn't realize he had killed the boy. Yakazawa was one tough dude, he took down four detectives and may have escaped but was trapped at a pier and fell into the water which he was deathly afraid of. He became the second man arrested with a borrowed gun plus has a murder rap on top of that. Like Oe Yakazawa gave the same story of getting a gun at a bus station locker, when the job(s) was completed he would return the gun along with a third of the take but of course was never able to return it.

Yakazawa had worked part time at a company named Ocean Industries, it was a shady outfit that was on the verge of bankruptcy. Don't know how it happened but Oshita and Takayama have discovered there's another man with a borrowed gun who also worked at Ocean Industries, this twenty year old lad will be the key to solving the case. His name is Osamu Sakamoto who is always with his girlfriend Maki, Oshita and Takayama had a stakeout of the two at a Pachinko parlor. The pair were aware of being watched and tried to flee, easier said than done with the likes of Oshita and Takayama on your tail. But the youngsters were able to elude the pair of investigators but in a strange twist turned themselves in before Oshita and Takahyama could speed away. Sakamoto did admit to having an illegal gun but was coerced into taking it by the so far unnamed pair who owned Ocean Industries. This time the drop off location was different, the pistol was left under the pillow at a flop house and Sakamoto was ordered to stay there until he completed a job(crime).

In a lot of these screenshots you'll see Oshita clad in a wild white outfit, he did look a bit clownish. He did that as to fit in among the local lowlifes in hopes he may be able to get a borrowed gun too, that never panned out but he kept wearing the outfit. Above are the names of the two who own Ocean Industries, their names are Goda and Nakagawa though neither had much screen time. Back to the case and it appeared Sakamoto would be dragged down to the Minato precinct for having an illegal gun but a thought formed in Takayama's head. He and Oshita really had no solid evidence against the owners, perhaps they could use Sakamoto as a bait to expose themselves? That was a good idea to Sakamoto's girlfriend Maki who always harped on him for being too wimpish. So Oshita would stay at the flop house with Sakamoto until a call from the main owner Goda which happened the following day.

Takayama had devised a plan for Sakamoto to tell Goda, that would be of him robbing an armored car the next morning at 11:00 am and armored cars seem to be called cash transport trucks in Japan. Takayama also asked the vehicle's guards to go along with the charade as it was a trap to nab a criminal ring. They agreed to help so a total of five people knew about the scheme but Oshita and Sakamoto didn't know the box of money would be fake. That's Sakamoto above pulling off the heist and he did make it look realistic, watching from a corner was Goda who was a bit suspicious of Sakamoto. So while Takayama, Oshita, Sakamoto and the two guards knew of this bogus robbery no one at the Minato station did! When the detectives rushed to the bank the guards told them some of the story, they were of course perplexed on what took place. And of course so wasn't Takayama's chief above who is Kondo, he was naturally furious with his best pair of investigators. They do things in their own ways, while it often may not be by the book in the end they always nab the criminals!

After the robbery Sakamoto had a vehicle to escape in, hiding in the back was an unseen Oshita. The drop off location for the money was to be at a pier, it wasn't revealed if Sakamoto would also be returning the borrowed gun then. As mentioned the main president of Ocean Industries Goda wasn't entirely sure Sakamoto could be trusted, when he reached the pier he called Goda. Who informed Sakamoto the location to hand over the money, 100 million yen, had been switched and if Sakamoto knows what's best for him he better hurry. That's because the other company 'president' Nakagawa was holding Sakamoto's girlfriend hostage, a no show by Sakamoto would mean her death! Though that was just a ruse as Nakagawa did leave her to meet up at the new location with his mate Goda, shortly arriving after that was Sakamoto with a still hidden Oshita. During this escape trailing the vehicle was Takayama on a motorcycle and as I've asked before is there anything this man can't do?!

This meeting didn't go off as planned or at least in the beginning. Sakamoto was going to turn the suitcase over but was instead shot by Goda as Sakamoto could identify him and Nakagawa. Luckily Sakamoto was wearing a bullet proof vest but that stunt involving a civilian would make Oshita's chief quite irate.... again! The whole time Oshita had thought the case truly did hold 100 million yen, if the criminals were to somehow escape it would mean he and Takayama would be on the hook for paying the money back! Soon the lowlifes Goda and Nakagawa were trapped like rats and surrendered with Takayama taking the case of money. To the surprise of everyone Takayama took the case and heaved it into the water.... then began firing his gun at it! This was when Oshita learned he was fooled too as the case just contained newspapers and there was no real money, Oshita was a bit peeved at his partner but least he's not on the hook for 100 million yen! So another case solved though everyone at the Minato station wasn't too pleased with how Takayama did everything in secret though he did nab the perps. That ends this recap and am a bit burnt out on writing these as it makes four of them in less than two days! So will wait a week before having the next pair of them though there could be a pair of recaps for another series I'm about to begin.
