Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Yui Kobayashi... Miku Tanaka... Nagi Inoue....Maria Makino.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Chae Soo-Bin: "Where Stars Land" drama mini primer post....

Whew, eleven posts in 2 1/2 days is a record for me and my brain has become more mushy than ever. Above are two pics from the 2017 series "I'm Not A Robot" and that's a show I'm planning on checking out as it really looks interesting and has had mainly positive reviews. Do have it but and will be viewing it soon but will I watch the entire series and do posts for it? Unsure at the moment but the odds are no to both questions as I'm starting to grow a bit tired of Korean dramas, not the shows themselves as they're solid but how long they are and how much time you have to commit to them.

That commitment is something I don't want to do these days and there's some good reasons for it. The main one being the time it takes me to view an entire sixteen episode series and possibly doing recaps for them all. An hour show turns into seventy minutes for me after taking so many screenshots and jotting down some notes. So that's 19 hours plus an hour to write up a recap as they're always lengthy. That total then is 35 hours(!) for one series between viewing and writing the recaps up, that's a lot of time and to me way too much. So for a while will try to find some shorter Korean series that are only five or so episodes, ones that are much longer will just recap the first 3-4 shows. At least the quality has risen for Japanese dramas these past two years and there's plenty of shorter ones that are quite good as you've been noticing here lately.

Whew, isn't she just so incredibly hot yet so adorable....

So my original plan for the "Where Stars Land" drama was to recap all sixteen episodes or had been thinking perhaps just half of that. But scrapped that idea as there's too many other posts and dramas I need to do, so will be viewing the show but will only have semi-recaps in Soo-Bin's posts and truly hope there's many more on the way. But following this is a post with a pair of mini recaps for the second and third episodes, figured I took so many screenshots couldn't let them go to waste. So this post will be much shorter than planned, realize this and the next post aren't among the better ones I've done but need to increase the amount of Soo-Bin posts. These terrific pics are for an interview she did for the drama with the Toin site.

In the drama Soo-Bin plays the part of 27 year old Han Yeo-Reom. She's been at the Incheon International Airport for a year but are her days numbered? She's been in so much hot water over that year and has been suspended for swearing at passengers, coming close to being in fights with them and just hasn't shown that professional image. Yeo-Reom had done that working in the Transportation department, now she's been assigned to Passenger Services and this will her last chance to do well or she'll be shown the door.

Episode one dealt with Yeo-Reom's first day at her new assignment and that didn't go so well but things were getting better by the fifth episode. Her first task was to quell an incident in the main section of terminal one where an unruly passenger was out of control and was breaking ticket kiosks. Yeo-Reom's old instinct would have been to pummel the lunatic but she refrained and instead it appeared this man was going to pummel her! But to save the day Lee appeared and he's one of her co-workers in the new department. Talked briefly about Lee in the next post and this man has some super human strength as both his right arm and leg are bionic! Didn't take screenshots of the fourth and fifth episodes for the reasons I gave above. This is a fine series and don't want to stop viewing it, for now need to take a break from recapping such long Korean shows but then again will do some posts for her other drama mentioned in the beginning.

The drama began on October 1, 2018 and on that day Soo-Bin and the other main members of the cast were at an event which took place at the Incheon airport. Soo-Bin looked so superb at the event but doesn't she always(?) though perhaps not nearly as alluring as she is at so many others. Short video of the event after the pics and there are just so many different kinds for the show on YT.

Chae Soo-Bin: Her second intro post....

.... as I really dropped the ball with her! Really thought Soo-Bin had at least four prior posts but obviously made a huge mistake with that assumption which may turn out not to be a bad thing as it means there will be many posts on the horizon for her. This year has been such a slow one for my fave Korean actresses and no doubt the health crisis has played a major factor in that. But their counterparts from Japan have been much busier these past few months so hopefully that'll mean new things for Soo-Bin as everything for today is slightly older.

What kind of baffles me is why there hasn't been more posts for Soo-Bin up until now. I would put her in my top five for most attractive Korean actresses, she actually could be in second place. Today's post isn't too huge, at over sixty pics it is in a way though there aren't many different activities but there will be in her upcoming posts. Checked and Soo-Bin's first ever post was done in March so with many posts on the horizon she just may qualify for this year's faves list. Sure you missed that first post so here's a few quickie bio details of Soo-Bin who on July 10th hit the age of 26. Like most actresses from Korea she's a bit tall as her height is 167 cm and also like most others in her field she graduated from college which was Konkuk University.

Been almost two months since I've viewed and recapped a Korean drama, really was getting burnt out on them which was mainly due to their length of 16-20 hours. But just began one this week titled "Where Stars Land" from 2018, have viewed the first three episodes and there's a total of sixteen. It's a serious drama yet not overly so which is such a relief to me as the last few I viewed were just so confusing or complicated. Have started on the first recap and there will be four of them along with an intro post which I'll post after my mini break beginning on the 24th.

Of course I brought that up as Soo-Bin is the 'heroine' in the series but a very inept one. She plays the character of Han Yeo-Reum who works at the Incheon International Airport and most of the drama was filmed there. Yeo-Reum has been at the airport for a year and has constantly screwed up such as swearing at passengers and getting into scuffles with them. She has one last chance to redeem herself as she was transferred to the Passenger Services Department, she's still struggling but does have the backing of her manager.

Yeo-Reom is also being supported by a new co-worker named Lee and what a background he has though not much has been revealed. Lee has a 'bionic arm' which is extremely powerful and he can literally pick up a car with that arm though he's a very mild mannered person. They work as a team and there is a potential romance but won't go into too many details now as not to spoil anything for the sparsely viewed recaps coming up.

If there's one thing I've been disappointed in over the years it's Korean magazines. On occasion you will find large spreads for some major stars but for the most part they're usually only 3-5 pages, those spreads pale horribly to the ones from Japan. Soo-Bin does appear in many mags but her sets are usually way too small, the only biggish ones were in that first intro post. Will have a pair of them in most of these posts but almost all will be in that 3-5 picture range. For today there's three pics from the March 2019 issue of Cosmopolitan and three from the June edition of Nylon.

Like so many other Korean actresses Soo-Bin really shines at events but her star may shine even brighter. For all of her posts will have a pair of events and as I've mentioned many times before may prefer these kinds of pics over most of Idols dressed very skimpy. This first batch is from the 2018 'SBS Drama Awards Show' that took place on December 31st., she won the 'Best Actress Award for her role in the "Where Stars Land" drama.

Who knows how many pics will be in all of this year's posts, my estimate is about 40,000. Of course the vast majority are overly super duper but it'll be hard to top this final set of pics which are from December 30, 2017. On that date Soo-Bin was at the 2017 'MBC Drama Awards' ceremony where she won another best actress award for her role in 'The Rebel" series. But the award she should have won was for the most breathtaking attire as once again my cold water bill will be through the roof! Short video of the event after the pics and will have more from the event in future posts, still can't this is only Soo-Bin's second post....whew!!!!
