Kuro No Onna Kyoushi: Episode 5 review and Nana Eikura screenshots

Hate to say it but this series has gone way, way downhill the last few episodes, after showing a bit of promise in the beginning it's really taken a turn for the worse.

Really going to be a short review and that's because so little really happened in this last episode, that's one of the problems that is dragging this drama down. It's getting to be a bit repetitive as far as the storyline goes, in the latest show another student once again got into trouble, this time it was a female student named Matsumoto who was poor and was trying to make extra money by working in a hostess club. First she was discovered by a classmate of hers named Tachibana who tried to get her to quit by giving her money so she wouldn't have to work but she quickly reneged on her promise and went back to the club where she was then discovered working there by one of her teachers who really didn't do much about it. Then the owner of the club tried to blackmail Matsumoto into sleeping with some clients but luckily for her Tachibana was able to save her from this ruthless guy, she escaped but they held him hostage. Of course this is when Takakura(Nana) and her team jumped into action first to save him and then also in turn blackmail the owner leading him to turn himself into the police as there were now some even more ruthless guys than him who wanted to get revenge on him, thus ends this episode as all is well for everyone, another neat and tidy ending.

Actually from above it may sound like an interesting show but that wasn't the case, it was rather boring and that's what's happened to this show the last 2 episodes, it's just gotten to be so boring and repetitive with no suspense at all. First 3 episodes weren't so great either but it was showing some promise but now it's just turned into a subpar series, hard to recommend it right now, matter of fact may take a short break from it as there's probably a better current drama airing, least I hope so because the summer season hasn't turned out to be a good one so far. And as always ending with some screenshots of Nana from the show, that's also been another problem as her role has decreased a tad over the last 2 episodes, she's such a mysterious character it would really help if we could learn so much more about her.

Kuro No Onna Kyoushi: Episode 3 review and Nana Eikura screenshots

Bit of an improvement this last episode, still could have been better but think it's been the best episode to date. Another case for Takakura(Nana) and her team to avenge and it looks like all these cases will involve the students in her class, also appears that most of them will get an episode in the spotlight. This time a very smart male student with a promising career was falsely accused of being a molester on a train, the accusers were from a different high school and they tried to blackmail him into giving them 100,000 yen. But he wasn't the only person to be targeted as the pair of female students from that rival school had also been blackmailing many older men too.

Though the student was innocent of any kind of groping on the train much of the eveidence pointed against him, most of his fellow students turned against him and even his teacher who stood behind him came to believe he was guilty. Lurking in the shadows of course was Takakura, who knew he was innocent but was waiting for him to pay them a 'reward' for proving his innocence and taking revenge on the pair that had accused him. A very quiet female student who was on the train at the time knew he was innocent and also because he had helped her one time with her studies went to the trio of teachers and paid them the money to clear his name. And that they did in a good ending as the pair of females were set up on a bus to make it look like they had stolen some money, they hadn't but all their evil deeds came out as the bus was packed with the wives of the men who the pair had defrauded of much money. To make it short the pair were arrested by the mysterious police officer who crops up at the end of every episode, still don't know what his connection to the teachers is yet, but all ended happily with the student now back in the good graces of all at the school and of course of team of teachers with a bit more money in their pocket.

Mentioned it was the best episode to date and it was but there's only been 3 episodes so far so really hoping they'll continue to get a bit better, would be nice too if they would start explaining about the past of these teachers and what led them to seek justice at a cost for the students, that and a few other questions need to be answered but to date would recommend this drama. As par for the course here's a few more Nana screenshots from this episode, you can probably follow along with them to see how the story broke down.

Kuro no Onna Kyoshi: episode 2 synopsis and Nana Eikura screenshots

Said in my first review of this series should be able to explain it more in the next post for it, well that's really not going to happen as all the unanswered questions from episode one remain unanswered, really not sure what's going on, not to say it hasn't been good so far just so much more for the viewers to know. Reminds me a bit of Uramiya Honpo with the revenge factor and having to pay for the services to exact the revenge but Uramiya Honpo was better, least so far. Nana has been fine, what a stoic character she's played as you can see by this pic, think we're going to learn more of her in the next episode, previews hinted at that.

Looks like every episode will focus on a student or two, in this one Shimomura( Ito Ono) has been going out with one of her teachers named Oikawa( Shuji Kashiwabara) but he's been using her and the other students/staff to advance himself as he's planning on moving to a rival prep school and to marry the director's daughter putting himself in line to be his successor. It slowly came out that they were dating each other, Oikawa cleverly set things up in advance to make it look as though Shimomura was stalking him and the school officials believed him as they expelled her. Not everyone believed him but the key ones to believe her were the team of three led by Takakura(Nana) who for a fee, this time it was about $650 they would clear the student and bring the devilish teacher to shame. Well of course they did in nice fashion by shaming him in front of all the students plus setting up a camera that aired the events back to the prep school he was going to work for. Said of course because it'll always work out in this series, the teacher lost his job, new job, fiancee' and was dragged away by the police thus making our heroine team the victors plus putting a few more yen in their pockets.

Liked it a bit better than the first episode but still can be improved upon, like all those questions about their pasts plus although the last third of the show is quite good seems like it takes too long to build up to the conclusion. So far though would recommend it, has been interesting and the preview for the next show looks quite promising so hopefully the next post on this show will have more things explained plus be a bit more positive about the drama.

Kuro No Onna Kyoushi: episode synopsis and screenshots

Not going to give a big review for this first episode because after watching it there are just so many questions.... who is Takakura and her team of teachers? Why are they fighting criminals? How did they get started and where have they learned all these methods of crime fighting? Why do they charge such a high fee for their services?
Just so many questions to be answered, while it was an okay first episode think once these get answered plus a few other unknown things it'll turn out to be a fine series.

Short synopsis from d-addicts: Rookie teacher Aoyagi Haruka arrives at the prestigious Kokubun-kan High School full of hopes and aspirations of being of help to her students. But she soon finds that life is far more complicated for her young charges than she first thought. When one of her students threatens to follow a path into drugs, Haruka turns to the mysterious Biology teacher, Takakura Yuko, and her fellow women teachers for help just to find out they will only conduct "extracurricular classes" for the students... at a price. Now Haruka may have to think twice about turning to these dark women teachers for help...

And that's what the episode was for the most part like, the price ended up being Haruka's first pay check as a teacher as Takakura and two fellow teachers ended up saving her a student from a ruthless drug pusher with the help of a police officer they employ, that was another thing not explained in the show.
All in all it was a fine show which should get better once we start learning more about the characters, yes they're mysterious but why? Nana looked fine and played such a stern, robotic teacher, not someone you'd want to mess with. Rest of the cast seemed fine too though most didn't get much screen time except for the rookie teacher and one of the students, this could be like many other school dramas where each episode focuses on one student and their problems. Next review or two will be longer with hopefully a lot more details, has the potential to be quite good, only one episode but would recommend it so far.

Cast:
Nana Eikura as Yuko Takakura
Mikako Ichikawa as Sumre Uchita, one of Yuko's team
Satomi Kobayashi as Aya Fujii, the other member of the team
Fumina Kimura as Haruka Aoyagi, the rookie teacher
Reuna Trendl as Fukuko Ochinai
Taro Suguga as Officer Noguchi
Seika Taketomi as Rio Yamagishi, student in trouble this episode
