Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Miyuki Watanabe.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Yui Kobayashi: Her quest to dominate the Galaxy has begun!!!!

Hmmm, first she dominates Nao's blog and then moves on to the Galaxy(!), guess that's the order of how things take place. This is post #76 for Yui and while it may not seem like a high total it really is.     She's had close to fifty solo posts since the  beginning of 2020 which is the most for any current J-Pop Idol, at this pace she should hit a hundred within two years. These days that's a milestone as just one other has hit that mark since 2018, can see one more huge fave joining her in reaching triple digits. A week ago had a post for Yui's second photobook and of course that's been ultra popular. But the first four pics here at the top are from her first book that came out four years ago, both books are tremendous but I kind of like that first photobook slightly more.

This is her sixth post for the 'Nao Year' so she's now qualified for the yearly faves list. It's not going to be easy repeating as my #1 fave but Yui is currently in the mix to do that as no one has broken away from the pack to be the early front runner. Personally don't think she'll be number one again though wouldn't mind seeing it happen but should remain in the top five. Last year that second photobook came out and they do help someone out quite a bit when it comes to their position on the list. It's not exactly the book itself but everything that goes along with it such as many more magazine spreads, an event, outtake/promo pics for the book, interviews and sometimes videos so all those activities make for many more posts.

That photobook post nine days ago made it twelve consecutive months for a Yui post. That's the longest current streak and second longest of all time here, the record is sixteen(?) though need to double check on that and can she break it? There was no regular post for Yui last month, it's been a semi quiet stretch for her and Keya yet have over seventy new pics plus a few oldies. First off are these Keya cards, top three are for their latest single which is sadly their lowest seller, the others are group cards for March. "Sakurazuki" was the title of the main song, it was an okay tune but the much better song was "Cool" and that should have been the main song as I'm like most fans who think that tune is so much better.

Yui is a model for the With site and so aren't too two other '46' members. Each month one of them has all of their modeling photos, May is her month but there's only been four pics to date so you'll be seeing the entire month in her next post. Thought that Yui and two Hina members were going to be regular models for the andGirl magazine/site but they all had just one batch of pics. She just had a two page spread in their March issue and the others are 'clean versions' of those pics.

Three days ago did the first two recaps for the "Borderless" drama that aired in 2021. Just found the subs a month ago and will have two more posts for it later on this week. Yui plays the character of Kotone who works at her father's cafe for she failed twice to get into a musical school. Her story wasn't the main one for the first two shows but it will for the third through fifth episodes, some screenshots from those first three shows.

Have some bonus screenshots for after the third episode there was ten minute behind the scenes segment which was semi interesting.

No new mag spreads for today so how about a terrific oldie? While they don't have any screen time together Hikaru also had a large role in the "Borderless" drama, this spread came out while the show was airing and is from the April 28, 2021 issue of Weekly Shonen.

Last October Yui opened an IG page which was mainly to promote her second photobook but she's kept it going. Wish she had more pics as the ones she posts are always fabulous such as those first two(!), three near the bottom are from the "Actress" drama. That's Yui's current series and when it finishes will be recapping that show.

There will always be new promo pics for the 'Uni's on Air' web game and have eight for today. There was no regular post for April so those are the bottom four pics. The top four are new for May and doesn't Yui look a bit different? She does to me and can't quite out my finger on what the difference is but still looks beyond perfect to me!!!!

We've hit the finale and this was one darn fine post, Yui's usually have a good variety of activities in them. On Thursday, which was May 4th, the Spring/Summer 'Girls Award' show took place at the Yoyogi National Stadium Gymnasium in Tokyo. Five Keya members were there and the group also performed two songs, many other members from Hina and Nogi were at the show but for some reason there are so few photos from it. Yui may have the most and she took her stroll on the F.I.N.T. stage. No decent new videos and that's been the case for most '46' members the last few months which is starting to irritate me! But Keya did open a second YT channel five days ago and think this will be more geared towards the members, for a while have been saying they need more exposure and has management been reading my posts?! After the pics have their newest video, there's only three do date, which feature the five remaining first generation members and I found it to be very entertaining.

  1. BTW what happened to the screencaps/reviews of Yui-Pon's drama "Joshi Kosei no Mudazukai"? It's been subbed to completion, in case you missed that ^__-

  2. Didn't do regular recaps for the drama but did include many screenshots in some 2021 posts. She was only in episodes four through seven, had she been in every show would have recapped the entire drama.
