Did mention in the post below this one how these kinds help me out quite a bit, to me putting your thoughts into words are much better than keeping them locked in your head and comments about my musing are always welcome. One thing I mentioned in that post and others this year was about how many other blogs and sites in this vein have closed down the past year. There aren't any quite like this one(!) but there were many others I enjoyed visiting to read their drama/movie reviews, to get subs, news about J-Pop Idols and various other info. So while I don't have any stats it wouldn't shock me if over half those other sites have closed down and can understand why. It's so much more difficult to do posts for actresses, models and Idols as so many have graduated, done much less work, retired because of marriage, etc. I can understand other blogger's frustrations as I have the same ones but unlike many others won't be quitting this blog for a while as I still enjoy doing posts, once I get an issue in my personal life settled that will free up much more time so the posts will be increasing somewhat soon or least I hope so.
One thing that I've put on the back burner for a while are reviews for dramas and movies. Did begin writing up a recap for a 1977 Tokusatsu series three weeks ago but then that problem I've discussed a few times began so had to put that aside and sure by now forget all that took place! One thing a few of you have probably noticed the last few months is how I've become a bit nostalgic and have been doing posts for many of my older faves. The posts mainly have featured photobooks and/or pictorials for such one time massive faves such as
Yumiko though think the posts for her have ended. But will have a few more coming up for
Chisato and
Wakana, I know all three mentioned are in their forties but all are women who I still adore and those older books are tough to top!!!!
Another thing that's tough to top is the woman in these first ten photos and will admit she's someone I will always have such a massive crush on until the day I die! 😍 Sure many are scratching their heads wondering who this woman is but bet a few do recall
Minami Sengoku, she was a J-Pop Idol until seven years ago and had been the leader of the
Up! Up! Girls group. To say
Minami is/was a massive fave is such an understatement and in all honesty she could be my #1 woman of all time. The problem with those kinds of lists is that they favor current women but though
Minami only has about one post a year these days she did finish in the tenth position on my last 'Top Twenty Faves of All Time' list done two years ago.
In the first ever list done in 2018 Minami was in the second spot, she was also my #2 fave of the year for 2017 and was third in 2016. Plus she had my second fave photobook of 2017 along with having my top gravure DVD of the year so all in all she certainly did well on my older lists. After Minami left Up! Up! Girls she mainly was a stage actress and has appeared in so many plays. She got hitched in late 2021, about a year later had her first and only child but has returned to acting and did have a biggish role in a TV special which I just learned of. Talking about Minami reminds me and many others about how old we're getting for in exactly six months she will be hitting the age of 34 and where has the time gone?! For old times sake will work on a post for her though it will take a while to do but I really adore Minami to no end and hate to see women like her forgotten about but I never will, it is worth checking out her older posts and what an underrated alluring woman she was or actually still is!
Nice to go back in time on occasion and there are some women who I will never get out of my mind though you may never see many posts for them. The rest of the post may be shorter as I'm not sure what to say and as of now not sure how this year's faves list will play out and it's the tenth year of it! In eight previous years have started at a position, say sixteenth, and worked my way up to #1 and had a post for every position. Those posts would usually be rather large as I would save up things for them and the countdown has been a popular format with you viewers. But in 2018 didn't have a countdown and think in March 2019 just had a small post saying who my top ten faves of the year were.
When I think back on it can't recall what happened but there had to be a good reason why a regular list wasn't done. Did say in that post that
Nanase did run away with being my Queen of the year, she's yet another woman who I miss posting about. She's slowed down on her activities and did get married earlier this year, in May
Nanase hit the age of thirty and bet there are many others like me who remember her so well when she was twenty!
The years 2015 and 2018 the list featured ten women, the other seven years the list contained sixteen or twenty. To qualify for the yearly faves list is easy as a woman just needs six posts, most years around thirty would hit that mark. For 2024 the number to qualify may drop all the way down to sixteen(!) and there's not a thing I can do about that. Most of you faithful viewers know what a struggle it has been doing posts, though the total number of posts won't be too much lower than last year have had many more posts for dramas and movies along with doing many posts featuring books and such that are twenty years old!
So for now think the list will just feature ten women and am unsure of the format. In other years have had a post for that woman in a certain position but that won't be happening this year or least don't think so, may have to have two or more positions in a post. Sadly one woman who won't be on the list is
Rika who is right above, she holds the record for being on the list the past seven years but still needs two posts to be eligible. My #2 or perhaps
1B woman of all time
Risa has qualified and she's made the list six consecutive years but 2024 has not been a busy year for her so she too may see a long streak end but in December will be doing a post for her graduation photobook.
The countdown wouldn't begin until after December 1st so there's still five weeks for things to improve and it's not all gloomy. For instance
Miku has had one of the best years ever for a woman here and she'll easily be my number one for 2024. She had her first two digital books this year and of course both were sweltering to the Nth degree, her second photobook came out in September and will begin off next year with the book. Have a few new magazine spreads also so will have yet another
Miku post very soon and glad to see no one is getting tired of her!
Will confess to liking another fave named
Miku a bit more, of course all know who I mean and she is from Hina. Last year
Miku finished in the second position and up until May she was battling for the top spot but kind of faded away for the next four months. Not her fault as Hina's management was pushing the 4G members too much but she should be around fifth and one other member from the group should make the list too.
One other gal who has had a solid year is Miyuki, it's her third time qualifying for the list yet this will be her first time appearing on it. Not that it's affected her as she was in the third position on my all time list and I can't think of any more superlatives about her that haven't been said! 😍 Miyuki has set a personal record for most posts in a year but had been a bit too quiet since August, that's changed over the last ten days so she will have a post within 3-4 days.
Almost done with my musings, when I talk about having six posts to qualify for the list it means those six posts have to consist of pics from activities from the year, such as 2024. So while
Yumiko had ten posts nine were for older books and pictorials so she wouldn't be eligible. But it was nice to revive an older massive fave and what the posts did was to assure her a spot on the next 'Top Twenty Faves of All Time' list which I will do in two years. For now doubt if either
Miku would make the list but everyone else mentioned in this post would, all save for one also made the previous list so my faves don't change too often.
Will end off with
Yui and though she had taken a six month hiatus after leaving Keya she still may make this year's top five and will explain that may be in her next post. Which will be within the week and it'll be for her 25th birthday, have said a few times how she is my all time #1 woman though after what I said earlier about
Minami she could certainly give her a run for the money!!!!
