"Yuru Camp" drama: Episode eleven recap

Air Dates: January 9th to March 26, 2020 on TV-Tokyo, Thursday nights at 12:25 am
Subs were mostly done by EcoTV but another team did at least the first show, you'll notice the font difference and the title roughly translates over to laid back camp.

Main Cast: We'll seldom see anyone besides these five, had only watched the first two episodes before writing the character info so may edit things as time goes on. The setting is Nanbu in Yamanashi prefecture which is a little over thirty miles away from Mt. Fuji. Like so many dramas it's based upon a manga and anime.

Haruka Fukuhara as Rin Shima.... Main star of the show and she's an avid camper. However she has only done it alone as she'd rather not have others spoil her fun. So instead of joining the Outdoor Club at high school Rin is in the library club but that may not last for much longer.

Yuno Ohara as Nadeshiko Kagamihara.... New girl at high school but had met Rin a few days before her first day. Nadeshiko had no clue about camping until meeting her but quickly became such a fanatic and joined the Outdoor Club on her first day at school.

Momoko Tanabe as Chiaki Ogaki ... President of the Outdoor Club who had just two members until Nadeshiko joined. They weren't much of a camping club until then and it's located in a very tiny room until they can get to five members.

Yumena Yanai as Aoi Inuyama.... The other member of the Outdoor Club. To date they've never taken a camping trip but do have various equipment, they spend most of their days burning leaves and keeping the school grounds tidy.

Sara Shida as Ena Saito.... Rin's best friend who in these first few shows doesn't show much interest in camping though does love nature and animals. She is one kawaii young woman!!!!

Think this will be the last of the recaps though am planning on watching the final four episodes tomorrow. That's why I wrote up on January 24th but had a change of mind with this show. discussed why I came back to this series in the ninth recap. But there is one other reason I forgot to add in. That's of not doing enough full series recaps, though I usually finish a series often don't recap the entire drama. Not that there's always a need to do so as the point many times is whether a show is worth a watch or not, this one is but will admit there's zero action or suspense but it's been quite enjoyable.

Have the final two recaps today and the special event is the first Outing Club Christmas trip. There's just three in the club but Rin's best friend Ena will be along along with the club's new advisor Toba. We first met her four episode's ago when she was camping with her sister who helped Rin and Nadeshiko out with their fire. During that time Toba was a bit tipsy and the pair were glad they didn't have to see her on a regular occasion, if they only knew! Toba hadn't been at the campground for more than a few minutes when she started on her first six pack of tall beers. She was doing that alone as the two members Aoi and Chiaki were devouring ice cream at a local farm, just those two were driven to the camp site by a then sober Toba.

Making the trip alone was Rin, by the end of the last episode we weren't sure she would be joining the club but obviously she did say yes. You can see Rin above on her motor scooter and of the five camping trips she's made in the series it's the closest to Mt. Fuji she's been. Rin arrived a bit early and was shocked Aoi and Chiaki were already there but couldn't find them, actually it's a good thing she couldn't locate Toba. As you can see above Rin didn't wait for the others and set up her tent immediately, this will be the first time she's been on a regular trip with others. But she did spend one night with Nadeshiko in an earlier episode and arriving soon after the tent was erected was Rin's new 'weirdo friend'. She got a ride with her sister and now it was time for the duo to find the four others but do they really want to find Toba?!

Well, least when Toba drinks she's a quiet woman who keeps to herself, for these final two episodes imbibing was really all she did!  The duo did find their mates, the date is December 24th so it is a Christmas outing yet the group has no special plans save for eating and at times that's all they think about. Finally arriving on the scene was Rin's best friend Ena and this is her first ever camping trip. She must come from a wealthy family as her top of the line sleeping bag cost the whopping total of 50,000 Yen and her mate's jaws dropped that a bag could cost that much. Rin had been unaware Aoi and Chiaki had already began setting their site up, now that her tent was erected there was no way she wanted to relocate to their space.

Not to worry as the club moved to where Rin was and that was a wise idea as their camping guru found a spot that has the best view of Mt. Fuji. What was never mentioned in either of these final two episode is where exactly the camp was, very close to the famous mountain is all we know. The problem with spending just one night is that it doesn't give you much time to do much else such as hiking and it being late December there's obviously no way they can do any kind of water activities.

This has been one fun series to view yet will have to admit not all that much happens yet then again an episode is only 23 minutes in length. So have needed to stretch out these recaps and after the above not all that much took place in the final few minutes. The gals did get to know their new advisor Toba slightly more and Rin from the first second had referred to her as the 'Drunk Lady'. Toba admitted she was alone during the holidays as she had no boyfriend and it is easy to see why! But now that the tents have been all set up and the nighttime is rapidly approaching it's time for the girl's fave activity which is eating! And a lot of that they'll end up doing but that all takes place in the next recap as this episode came to it's close.

Not a bad thing that the shows are a bit brief as it means much less time for me to write these recaps up. What I need to do are some regular posts for a pair with one of then being Yuno. Did four posts for her back in November/December but none since. Not sure why as I do have a few sparkling new mag spreads so will get to her soon. Haruka is one of my top faves yet is one of the hardest to do posts for. However she will be at the February 28th 'Tokyo Girls Collection' show so think a few days after that will finally have her first regular post of the year.
