Yuki Yoda: "Ryosangata Riko: Puramo Joshi no Jinsei Kumitate Ki" drama, episode ten(final) recap

Air Dates: June 30th until September 2, 2022... Thursday nights at 12:30 am on TV-Tokyo
Episodes are 24 minutes in length, subs are being done by Masssterchief

Main Cast: Most of the action takes place at the very busy Fun Fun Create company which specializes in planning and holding events. Wrote this up after viewing the first episode so a bit of tweaking will be done as we go on. There's three divisions at the company, #'s one and two are so busy they need more than 24 hours in a day! But our 'heroine' Riko works in the third division with four others and they are far from busy as their main tasks are mailing out flyers and such. In the first show a rumor had even started that the third division could be disbanded, will that eventually happen? No is the answer to that and as the series has gone on that unit is becoming a slightly important one.

Yuki Yoda as Riko Komukai.... Had acquired the nickname of 'Mass Production Girl' as she just liked mainstream and safe things/activities. But one night in the first episode after work she passed by the Yasan Hobby Shop which she had never noticed before. Deep down Riko does like models and such, she had never made any though until entering this shop and then the rest is history....

Karen Fujii as Kyoko Nakano.... Female employee in the third division, she seems to be talented so how did she end up there? Kyoko gets along with Riko so well but has noticed her friend can be way too boring and needs a jolt to her life.

Oshiro Maeda as Yuki Asai.... Started at the company with Riko but while she's still stuck at the bottom Asai has moved up to the first division. Seems as though he's doing well but in reality think he's not doing that that good of a job... he's a bit stuck up too.

Ayumu Mochizuki as Ryota Oishi.... Ace of the first division unit. He's one of Riko's biggest backers and am wondering if it's because he has a crush on her? The answer to that is yes but both are too shy to tell their true feelings to the other.

Ayumu Mochizuki as Shinji Takaji.... We met him in the second episode when he was transferred from the first to the third division. He knows almost everything about the company but his problem is Shinji doesn't like to do any 'real work'. That changed in the third show and of course it was because Shinji build his first model!

Magy as Teru Inuzuka.... Leader of the third division, very laid back man which isn't a positive at the Fun Fun Create company.

Yoshiaki Yoza as Atsushi Saruwatari.... Another third division employee who at one time was in the first division but asked for a transfer, why?

Yoshiyuki Morishita as Hitoshi Kijimura.... Oldest third division employee who like the others was so worried they'll be laid off. In the fourth show there was an offer to retire early and Kijimura did begin to fill out the forms until he had a change of heart.

Yoji Tanaka as Ichi Yajima.... Owner of the Yasan Hobby Shop where Riko visited in the first show and where she became addicted to models. Yajima seems to know all there is about models and took such a liking to Riko who tends to like the older versions.

Erika Ishikawa as Chiemi Ikuta.... Part time employee at Yajima's shop.
and Shinji has such a crush on this twenty year old.

Previous recaps:

Final recap for this series and as Riko says above 'Last Shooting' which was kind of the theme to this show. This is the second Yuki drama she's had the lead role in that I've recapped this year. But it's also been a much slower year for her as far as activities go and have never wished for someone to graduate but I'm hoping it's sooner than later for her departure from Nogi. Thought she would have an excellent chance at being #1 on this year's faves list, Yuki still does have a shot at having that honor but it's going to take one busy stretch from her.

Will give my thoughts and final grade now on this series and this just may be my second favorite show of the year to date. Not saying that everything was perfect in this drama but I can't think of anything negative to say about it and never realized the world of classic model building could be so interesting and fun. My grade for this show will be an 8.9/10 which means it just missed having  grade of A-. The ending to this series which you'll read about was much better than I expected and things didn't work out the way you would have thought which to me was a plus. The ending also wasn't a true finale so the door is still open for a second season and that's something I really hope will happen, now on to the final episode.

Hopefully you read the above post which I recommend doing as this is the second part of a major two part story. There's two things that have carried over from that show, an important one being will Riko ever confess her love to her senpai and Ace of Fun Fun Create, Oishi? She doesn't have too long to gather up her courage as Oishi has accepted a job at a much larger event company and his last day at FFC was at the end of this episode. But by far the biggest story for this final show is that Riko's third division is on the chopping block, by the end of the episode will the six employees still be working at Fun Fun Create? That was up in the air for most of this show but they won't go down without a fight. As you can see above Riko knew of the news which she heard from her friend in the elite first division Asai who we didn't see much of in this episode. The unit's manager Inusuka, who is also above, knew of the unit being disbanded too but just didn't know how to tell his small group the news. It's a unit of only six employees who have been making such a contribution to the company the last few shows, why get rid of such a small division?

For a long time Asai had looked down on Riko's unit but had been noticing how much they've improved and wanted to help them out. Oishi had suggested to him that if the unit could land a large contract they'd probably be spared, Asai was on the hunt for such a competition. And he did find a perfect one in his eyes at the end of the previous episode. This event/competition was called Cool Japan which was an event that would be taking place in Singapore next year. It was to promote Japanese culture there, at first a few of the unit were leery as they had no confidence but then they thought 'What do we have to lose?. Even the president of Fun Fun Create gave the go-ahead to the project and the budget for it, the deadline for a proposal is rapidly approaching and do the six in the unit have enough time to prepare a successful project? It appears so as for the first time all six worked as a true team, they secretly were also getting help from the first division men Oishi and Asai.

No timeline was mentioned but I'm thinking it had to be a week that Riko's division worked on the Cool Japan project and when they submitted their proposal. During that week every night Riko went to the Yassan Hobby Shop and that place was so key in this series, it turned around so many lives of those working at Fun Fun Create. To Riko this project could be her 'Final Shooting' and that's the model she wanted to create this time, she's really turned into a master at assembling models. The Gundam anime and models were mentioned often in this series, Riko's choice of a model was the Gunpla character who was involved in a scene called 'Final Shooting'. This was no ordinary model as it took Riko close to a week to assemble.... and then to destroy it! Will discuss more on what the destroying means coming up but above you can see Riko holding the Gunpla character which was finished yet not entirely(?).

Working hard all day and spending her nights at the hobby shop caught up with Riko who could barely keep her eyes open at work or the shop. But it's finally the day of the presentation and that Gunpla character above Riko had given to the unit's manager Inuzuka as a 'lucky charm'. There was no way the six would all be going to Singapore so the presentation was a live one via a computer, there were five on the committee viewing from the other end. Inuzuka may have given the speech of his life, his unit and the committee were so impressed with how he presented the project. Kudos have to go to the other five who did such a superb job and even to Oishi it appeared division three may have saved their jobs! However this was no rom-com so events didn't work out all neat and tidy. Who knows why but a different company won the project, however the third division wasn't too down as they did such a terrific job on the project. Which did impress the Fun Fun Create company's president who won't be firing them but will transfer all six to a different division. Riko though was in tears and couldn't believe her 'Last Shooting' wasn't more successful. To that the manager Inuzuka called her a fool, it wasn't her Last Shooting but her first one as perhaps she's set herself up for a nice future at the company.

During their final day(?) being in the third division it was also someone else's final day. That was with Oishi who is in the above top screenshot, as the third division were having a final chat Oishi was packing up to leave for his new job. Asai finally realized how much of a crush Riko had on him and rushed in to tell her this could be her final chance to confess her love. Which she did as she sped out of the building hunting for her first true love, Riko did find him and as you can see above she finally blurted out 'I love You!'. We never heard Osihi utter a word, he smiled at Riko's comment and the next thing we knew the action was taking place at the Yassan Hobby Shop. And in that bottom screenshot is what Oishi had told Riko which she had related to her new best friends Chiemi and Yajima. Oishi did like Riko but didn't have the same feelings as she did, Oishi considered her to be more of a little sister and it was impossible to say how hurt Riko was if at all.

So the world of modeling is now her true passion and as the series ended she was picking out a new Gundam one to build. But before this recap ends will discuss that character Gunpla a bit more. The first batch of screenshots below show Riko making it and it took her close to a week. After assembling Gunpla you needed to damage it(!) such as taking it's head and left arm off. That's because the character had been severely injured in a battle but yet managed to come out as the victor. Sounds easy just taking a head and arm off a model but Riko needed to add in many special features such as blood, where a missile may have hit it and other things to make it look damaged, that was such a long chore but Riko aced it perfectly. My top scenes in almost every episode was at the hobby shop and we learned so many interesting things about models, I really wish there were one of those shops near me! So that ends this series and what an enjoyable show it was, it won't be my top drama of the year but it just may have been the most fun show for 2022. The episodes are easy enough to get and the subber Massstercief did an excellent job with the subs and got them out quickly. As mentioned these first ten screenshots are from making the model and so many parts went into such a small one. A last thing is we should all pray for a second season!!!!
