"Girl Gun Lady" drama: Episode three of ten recap

Air Dates: April 7th until June 9, 2021 on MBS at 1:00 am, total of ten episodes
Subs are done by Bandai and the shows can be found at their YT channel

Main Cast: The actual recaps should be easy enough to do and not all that long though the first one often is to set up the story and introduce most characters. The hard part will be doing this top section with the characters as there's so many and will probably be tweaking this in every post. Sei by far has the biggest role and we do see much of her team too. Many others we really haven't seen too much of yet so will  break things down by teams and keep editing the details as we go along. Each team has four members, the bottom character is the leader while the top three are students at the Minamoto high school. As you can see the team names go by the alphabet.... A, B, C, D and there may be more.

Team ALPHA TANGO

Sei Shiraishi as Koharu Tachibana.... Heroine of the show for lack of a better word. Koharu was an avid model builder who got out of the hobby but resumed it in the first episode. She made a figurine called Alice and the next thing Koharu knew she had been whisked away to a parallel world where her classmates were shooting guns at each other!

Momoka Ito as Natsuna Usui.... The school's track star and will be competing in the 800 meter Japan championship. But will she as Natsuna has only one live left(?).

Natsuki Deguchi as Akiho Inada.... Good friend of Natsuna's and loves science.

Yuno Ohara as Alice.... Commander of the team who lives in a parallel world as do the other commanders. Koharu first met Alice when she built a model that resembled her and think that's how all of the students became part of their team.

Team BRAVO TANGO

Manami Igashira as Chizuru Mizuno.... Killed for the third time in this episode which means she's been 'erased' in the real world.

Anna Ishii as Matsuko Kadaowaki.... In the third episode she replaced Mizuno as the fourth member of Team Bravo. At one time she was good friends with Koharu but they had a falling out two years ago. Matsuko is by far the toughest of the fighters and also the best at making models which means he guns are the most powerful.

Yuuka Suzuki as Rin Otake....

Yura Someno as Aoi Umebayashi....

Rio Teramoto as Bianca.... Team commander

 Team CHARLIE TANGO

Azusa Ohara as Ichika Ikushima....

Rina Kannami as Futaba Ikushima....

Hina as Mitsue Amemiya....

Momoka Ishida as Charlotte.... Team commander

 Team DELTA TANGO

Ai Mikami as Rei Kitamoto....

Momoko Tanabe as Natsuki Higashino....

Utano Aoi as Kana Minami....

Sakura Ando as Daisy.... Team commander

Rest of the cast, twenty characters in all though won't be talking about them too often.

Aya Asahina as Mirei Hoshimiya.... Teacher for many of the students.

Masanari Wada as Kaoru Moriyama.... School's physician and is a model freak.

Gaku Hamada as the shop owner.... Owns the FFF shop where the girls purchase their models. He also has some ties to the games which are unknown at this point.

Would probably help to read those above recaps as I won't be talking too much of what's taken place, like this post they're not too long. Am so glad these late night dramas are being subbed, not all of them but almost as many as prime time series. Which is so good as 90% of the prime time shows these days are virtually unwatchable, they are so drab and the story lines are so unimaginative. But there is one I'll be checking out that will be starting in July and have a strong feeling that one will be a solid view. No cliffhanger coming into this episode but it does end on a mini one.

A team consists of one commander and three students from the Minamoto high school. When a girl gets killed three times in a game she's 'erased', not just from the battles but in real life! That happened with one student in the last episode, Mizuno, who now is being replaced by the girl in the third screenshot. That girl is Matsuko who was head of the school's student security team and also was once a friend of the drama's heroine, Koharu. You'll be hearing much about Matsuko who is by far the most efficient battler and shooter, seems as though she may have played this once before and perhaps she did. She's been placed on the Bravo team and Matsuko immediately had problems with the team's commander Bianca, you'll be hearing Matsuko's name mentioned often in these recaps.

Speaking of three lives the girl speaking in the second screenshot has only one left. That's my fave character who is Natsuna who is a top notch fighter but has to be a bit conservative because of having two deaths. In the bottom screenshot is team Alpha's commander Alice telling her girls what's up for the next challenge, they all take place weekly at midnight on Tuesdays. Killing(!) an opponent is still important but in this battle it's not what will get the most points. Each team has been assigned a base in the school, for instance team Alpha's area is room 2-C and there are always four teams. The team that can occupy the the most bases in the thirty minute battle will get a huge amount of points with killings adding to that total. It's not positive yet but the girls have heard rumors that if you hit a certain amount of points you can be released from the game, could that have happened to Matsuko?

As an added incentive there's a new gun that is up for grabs called the Blast Girl Gun, it's extremely powerful but the problem is it's in an open area which leaves you vulnerable to be shot. Top screenshots above show the new member of team Bravo Matsuko at odds with the commander Bianca who she doesn't respect as to Matsuko she's the best fighter of hem all! She's told the commander if she can obtain that gun she'll become the new leader of Bravo and don't think there's much Bianca can do about it. Even without that new weapon Matsuko is still an unbeatable warrior and no student could stop her from reaching the Blast Girl Gun first. As you can see above she was surrounded by members of the Charlie and Delta teams, even three against one they were no match for Matsuko's new weapon.

Matsuko easily gunned down every girl she came across though she didn't kill everyone, for some reason she spared Koharu's life and wonder if she still cares about her ex-friend? Matsuko ordered her two teammates Aoi and Rin to capture the vacant Charlie and Delta bases which they did, that should give them enough points to win the battle. But there's one more base to capture which is Alpha's, it's being guarded by Natsuna who as mentioned has only one life left. Her mates had told her to stay behind as it was too dangerous roaming the school's halls but now with the other teams defeated team Bravo is out to get her and the Alpha base. The Bravo commander Bianca had disabled Matsuko's radio so she couldn't contact her teammates, it was Bianca who ordered Natsuna to be killed instead of first capturing the Alpha base which infuriated Matsuko.

Natsuna is a superb fighter who knows how to use her speed and agility wisely. But Natsuna realized she would be no match against the two gals from the Bravo team, three if Matsuko joined them. The commander Alice knew that too as she ordered Koharu and Akiho to rush to their teammate's aid and just concede this match. The pair rushed to their 2-C room base but there was no Natsuna around as she had fled outside and was hoping the match would end before being fired upon. Being outside made Natsuna a sitting duck but there was only two minutes to go in the half hour battle. However appearing in front of Natsuna was the Bravo girl Rin who fired and as you can see above hit Natsuna in the arm but the wound wasn't fatal.

Natsuna though was in no shape to escape and it appeared she would be killed for the third time. But appearing were Akiho, who was firing from a school window, and Koharu who dashed to her friend Natsuna. With just seconds to go in the battle Rin fired and it was a direct shot. But coming to save the day was Koharu who leapt on top of Natsuna and took the bullet herself! And that was a fatal shot as Koharu has been killed for the first time but she did save her mate Natsuna from being 'erased' from the real world. Bit of an intense finale for this episode and each show is getting much more serious. It began as kind of a wacky drama but now there's endless battles and guess you could consider it to be a 'Battle Royale' type of show but of course not as violent or intense. Next post is the recap for the fourth episode which was another winner.
