"Girl Gun Lady" drama: Episode two of ten recap

Air Dates: April 7th until June 9, 2021 on MBS at 1:00 am, total of ten episodes
Subs are done by Bandai and the shows can be found at their YT channel

Main Cast: The actual recaps should be easy enough to do and not all that long though the first one often is to set up the story and introduce most characters. The hard part will be doing this top section with the characters as there's so many and will probably be tweaking this in every post. Sei by far has the biggest role and we do see much of her team too. Many others we really haven't seen too much of yet so will  break things down by teams and keep editing the details as we go along. Each team has four members, the bottom character is the leader while the top three are students at the Minamoto high school. As you can see the team names go by the alphabet.... A, B, C, D and there may be more.

Team ALPHA TANGO

Sei Shiraishi as Koharu Tachibana.... Heroine of the show for lack of a better word. Koharu was an avid model builder who got out of the hobby but resumed it in the first episode. She made a figurine called Alice and the next thing Koharu knew she had been whisked away to a parallel world where her classmates were shooting guns at each other!

Momoka Ito as Natsuna Usui.... The school's track star and will be competing in the 800 meter Japan championship. But will she as Natsuna has only one live left(?).

Natsuki Deguchi as Akiho Inada.... Good friend of Natsuna's and loves science.

Yuno Ohara as Alice.... Commander of the team who lives in a parallel world as do the other commanders. Koharu first met Alice when she built a model that resembled her and think that's how all of the students became part of their team.

Team BRAVO TANGO

Manami Igashira as Chizuru Mizuno.... Killed for the third time in this episode which means she's been 'erased' in the real world.

Yuuka Suzuki as Rin Otake....

Yura Someno as Aoi Umebayashi....

Rio Teramoto as Bianca.... Team commander

 Team CHARLIE TANGO

Azusa Ohara as Ichika Ikushima....

Rina Kannami as Futaba Ikushima....

Hina as Mitsue Amemiya....

Momoka Ishida as Charlotte.... Team commander

 Team DELTA TANGO

Ai Mikami as Rei Kitamoto....

Momoko Tanabe as Natsuki Higashino....

Utano Aoi as Kana Minami....

Sakura Ando as Daisy.... Team commander

Rest of the cast, twenty characters in all though won't be talking about them too often.

Anna Ishii as Matsuko Kadowaki.... Was once Koharu's best friend but they parted ways long ago. Matsuko is the main security chief for the school's student Security team and hates models though was once a fanatic of them. May become a 'player' as time goes on.

Aya Asahina as Mirei Hoshimiya.... Teacher for many of the students.

Masanari Wada as Kaoru Moriyama.... School's physician and is a model freak.

Gaku Hamada as the shop owner.... Owns the FFF shop where the girls purchase their models.

Whew, took a while to write that up but wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be. Have viewed the next two episodes also but thought it'd be easier to just read two at a time so will have he next pair of recaps in about four or perhaps five days. Will also be adding in a small section about the rules for the 'Girl Gun Battles', usually they're between two teams but not always. For instance we learned that the battles only take place each Tuesday at midnight and last about thirty minutes, that was the case in the first three shows. Plus Akiho reassured Koharu that what happens in that parallel world has no bearing on the real world but was she telling the truth? On to the second show's recap, first episode ended with Koharu waking up in her bedroom after a battle wondering if it was just a dream?

That day Koharu hunted down her two Alpha teammates to find out what exactly is going on! In the top screenshot is Akiho whose passion is science and can always be found in the school's lab. She was explaining some of the rules to Koharu but left some major details out which we'll learn about in this and the next show such as to what really happens when you get killed in a battle? Third screenshot is of Natsuna and she's my fave character of this series. She's an ace runner and has her sights on winning the 800 meter National championship. But the most important person is in the bottom screenshot, that's Mizuno who had been 'killed' at the end of the first episode. But seeing her in class has made Koharu believe Koharu and that what happens in that parallel world stays there.

A battle is usually only about thirty minutes but most of the setting takes place with the girls duking it out. Before we knew it midnight at Tuesday had arrived and it was back to the parallel world. One other note is that the guns the girls use are from the models they assembled, the better builder you are the more powerful your weapon will be. So Koharu reassembled her teammate's guns and it's off to win another battle! Different challenge this time, most battles up until now had been one team against another, that was according to Koharu's mates. This fight will consist of all four teams but the objective is still the same. That's to kill your opponents, whatever team can kill the most enemies in thirty minutes will get a huge amount of points but killing is harder than it seems.

That top screenshot is of Matsuko who is the leader of the student's Security Team. She was once Koharu's best friend but they had a falling out years ago but why(?) hasn't been revealed yet. We didn't see much of Matsuko in this show but starting with episode three she may be the most important and dangerous character. As mentioned this is a four team battle and we finally meet the the other teams which are Charlie and Delta. That's Charlie in the second to bottom screenshot and what a bunch of clowns they are. They like to make a spectacle of themselves and it's hard to believe they've survived this long but they do add a touch of humor into the show. It was hard for Natsuna and Akiho above to stop laughing at the trio as they wanted to get right into the game of killing!

To make a short story even shorter(!) soon all four teams were firing at each other in the gym. The school in this parallel world is exactly like the Minamoto high school the girls attend and they can't leave the grounds as there's an invisible force field around it. As mentioned the Charlie team are a bunch of goofballs who enjoy doing stunts more than killing their opponents. Must work as the team is still intact and they were able to escape from the gym unharmed. The battle was just a thirty minute one and time is ticking down, though a lot of shots have been fired at each other not one student has been killed. In that first episode Koharu had lured the Bravo member Mizuno into a trap where she was killed and securing a victory for her Alpha team. With the battle coming to it's end with apparently no winner who should be a sitting duck but Mizuno again but can our heroine Koharu shoot her?

Sure it will happen at some point but through four episodes Koharu has been unable to pull the trigger. She was baffled when Mizuno pleaded to her not to shoot as she was on her last life(?). Natsuna had no qualms about killing an enemy and with just seconds to spare again she took the life of Mizuno thus giving her Alpha team a needed victory and the points that come with it. More on what the points mean in the next recap. Those Tuesday midnight 'dream battles' are only thirty minutes, next thing we knew it was the following day at school. To Koharu's bewilderment Mizuno's seat was empty and the teacher never even mentioned her. When Koharu asked about her the teacher Hoshimiya said there's never been a student named Mizuno in the class, what is Koharu talking about? Now she's more baffled then ever and demanded to hear the true story from Akiho who is in the above screenshot.

Akiho felt if her, Natsuna or Alice told Koharu what could really happen she never would have made the model and joined their Alpha team. What we learned in these final minutes that there are certain times when what takes place in the parallel world can affect your real life. Each contestant in the games gets three lives, when they've been killed that many times they disappear from the game. Not just that but in real life too as their existence had been completely erased!!!! That doesn't seem possible to Koharu but it is, she went to Mizuno's house where the mother said she's never had a daughter. That info has really shaken Koharu up but now it's too late for her to withdraw from the battles.

Another incident took place in the final few seconds when Koharu was talking to her new friend and track star Natsuna. She revealed to Koahru that she has been 'killed' twice in battles, one more death and she too will be erased from the world! Luckily that won't happen for many shows and actually she may never be killed for a third time. In the final ten seconds the stern student Matsuko paid a visit to the FFF shop, it appears from the owner that she'll be taking the place of Mizuno and this unnamed shop owner is a mysterious man who we know zero about, what's his involvement with the 'Girl Gun' battles? That ends this recap and though I've viewed four shows will just have this pair for today. Will have two about every five days, the series ends on June 9th so ten days after the entire drama should be all recapped. Plenty of screenshots as usual to help you follow the action a bit better.
