Watashi to Kare to Oshaberi Kuruma synopsis and review

Haruka Chikano works as a contract worker at a small production office. She doesn't have any dreams or hopes for the future. On her lonely birthday, a car, which she is in, begins to talk to her. Because of the talkative car, Haruka Chikano becomes active and fights for her work, love and future... Asian Wiki

Quickie synopsis above as this was a fairly simple two part drama, between them only lasted a bit over 70 minutes, guess that worked out best that way as more episodes of this would not have worked, as it is wasn't all that good of a drama but still found myself enjoying it.
Haruka certainly thought of herself as a 'loser', seems nothing ever worked out well in her life though at one point she always tried but now it's come to the point in her life where she's resigned herself to always leading less than a good life and it's not worth having any dreams. On her 24th birthday she's celebrating it by herself as she had no friends when suddenly a strange bolt came out of the sky and struck her car, rushing over she found it to be fine but there was something that did happen to the inside of the car.... the Navi system was now alive and had come to the future to help her in her life! Most people would not believe a thing like that could happen but Haruka did right off the bat and gradually it became her best and really only friend. The Navi had come from the future and could predict events but the one rule it had was that it wasn't allowed to tell Haruka anything that would happen in her her future, what the system did was just try to point her in the right direction in life and get her to start to try living again instead of giving up.

Haruka did start to make an effort again in life but as usual for her things never seemed to work out, she met her old crush from high school who she started to get along with but suddenly his job moved to Costa Rica, as it turns out it was for the best as he turned out to be gay and his 'boyfriend' went with him. Also she worked as a very menial employee in a tiny, tiny magazine company but thought she had an offer to work in a major company, she quit her present job to work there but turns out it was a ruse and luckily she was still able to stay working at her current job. Few other events happened along the way as her car was stolen and Haruka thought she would never see her Navi again but it had some very strong powers as it also could operate the car and was able to escape from the thieves and reunite with Haruka, but only for a short while as it only had 10 days to help her and would return to the future which is what happened at the end of of the second episode but by this time Haruka seemed to have her life much more back on track and it left with it's purpose being successful. Right at the end we catch a glimpse of who sent the power to communicate through the Navi system, it was her grandson and it appears as she eventually got together with a coworker of her, one that she thought was a weirdo but deep down seemed to respect him, there was where the show ended off.

Tried not to make the review too long as it was only a 70 minutes two episode special and as mentioned any longer than that it wouldn't have worked, not that it really did anyways but it turned out to be a watchable show. Very hard to believe and way over the top at times and just so, so fluffy but it was enjoyable enough, nothing you would want to view more than once but if you;re a Nanami fan then you should view this as she did a good job, was quite funny and quirky throughout the whole show, just because of her would recommend it but would only give it a rating of 7/10. The two episodes aired on Sept. 22nd and 29th on Fuji TV and the title literally means "Me, Him and the Talkative Car", check out the next 2 posts as there's many screenshots of Nanami from this drama.
